Novice would be a pretty decent alternative, too. It seems overpowered to let the wolves rats start with the fool tarot card, especially considering how it could be passed among them.

I'm going to park my useless day 1 initial vote on Serdoa because of irritation last game.
Yes this vote is useless as it likely won't be there eod.
If anyone ignites that wordplay discussion again I will troll vote them today.

I won't have much time to post for another ~30 hours as I have friends coming round.

I think claiming the miller is pro-village at start of game, though I'm not sure that novice wasn't joking.

It's the right thing to do for a villager. It's a risky thing to do for a snitch.
A snitch with the card wants to get scried, so they want to keep quiet about it. Or they want to keep the possibility of claiming the fool card as a last minute escape. It cuts off options for the snitches if the fool card is known. That doesn't necessarily mean that they wouldn't do it, but it does mean that it is a very risky move.

Yeah you wouldn't claim it as snitch (you'd have to say it was stolen if scanned, whcih can in turn be refuted), but if a different snitch had it, then you could try claiming it.

Being a risky snitch play doesn't necessarily make it a bad snitch play though. Taking calculated risks is how you win.
