If you need someone to generate 18 full random combos and then throw out the best/worst and randomly assign them, I'm willing. Let me know when you've locked down your player roster.

I'm willing to be a 2nd set of eyes on the best/worst choices.

Haveing read a bit on the PBEM18 map, that sounds great!
Yeah it probably is the same script with water value=45% and each resource typex1.5. (link: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=151629 )
Problem with the script is that it doesn't support rerolls well.

I would've preferred more resources/less tundra anyway.
How many people are there? I would suggest 4 more and then throw out two at either end.

@scooter & cyneheard

If you guys could roll the map and look over the random combos then that would be much appreciated.

In terms of diplo, I would say chatting might as well be allowed just to make trade negotiations easier to understand more than anything else.

Tech Trading (as NTB) is pretty much central to the ethos of this game, thus there's no prospect of it being turned off

So basically we need to sit in-game waiting for others to log-in to do our diplomacy? Sounds like more work than just unlimited email use.

If tech trading will be on, but you want to limit diplomacy to avoid tech blocks and long NAPs, why dont we agree to allow only on-screen diplomacy - Player1 offers Tech A and asks 15 gpt for it or Tech B. The other player accepts or sends him counter-offer.

I think it is called AI diplomacy over here.

I'd prefer emails to in-game.

If this was sequential/PBEM it would be different.
1 Message per player per turn?

(or AI, that works well as well.)

Surely you can leave messages with diplo offers or just through the chat screen and then log in after you've seen that they are online? Or once communication has begun, arrange a time for both to be logged in?

My worry with unlimited diplo is that it will become a major time sink that I simply cannot afford to deal with. We could make an artificial limit on how many emails can be sent but how could that even be policed? I'm trying to find a way to make it manageable for everyone without making arranging tech trades overly difficult.
