WW 19 Game Thread - Mobster Mayhem - GAME OVER

@Ryan: Thing is, Selrahc was probably working on it for a while, before he started getting piled

@Uber: reread his last few posts. He has definitely claimed it.
Did you uncover anything on me BTB?

@uberfish , this is the post where he claims
(January 7th, 2013, 14:25)waterbat Wrote: That's good Ryan. I hadn't put that together from your post, but yes day3 sounds like a good reveal time for the gun and board users who have passed on their items.

@serdoa: "I had my reasons" translates to " I have the bomb"
The ideal situation/result for my play would have been thus:

I fake-counter-claim gun.
Tasunke is scum ( lying or not) and gets lynched.
If he was lying, I get night killed to rid the world of the gun. My bomb takes a wolf out. Or the wolves waste a steal on an item that really isn't of use to them. ( vig killing the bomb holder is ok)
If he was telling the truth, but scum, we get rid of the gun and I explain myself.

But I was afraid he was innocent and actually held the gun. So. I still wanted to do this play. I would imply that he had the bomb and was indeed baiting the scum. But if i stood up for tasunke the village would ask me 'wtf waterbat, why are you ruining tasunke's brilliant plan?'. Why would I out myself and another PR?

I even envisioned an impossible scenario where I could say who I was passing the gun to at night and villager tasunke would pass it on for me. But he'd have to know I was holdi g the bomb and was trying to work with him. I couldn't figure out a way that he would understand without tipping my lie.

So - overall, I'm just plain stupid for thinking I will EVER get night killed in any scenario on this forum.

So there - I have the gas can. I'll pass it tonight. I'm going to sign off for a bit.

Ok I just found the post. It hadn't made it to the scraper for some reason.

Guys can we PLEASE stop cluttering the thread with so many posts. Particularly Ryan and Q. I for one find it impossible to keep up with the volume that's being posted, so things like waterbat's claim just get lost in the noise. It's got to the point where I have to rely on the scraper if I want to review anyone's posts because the actual thread is too unwieldy, and that loses some of the context they posted in.

and guess what, I haven't even STARTED reviewing Q frown

Right. After reviewing Q I see little original content from him relative to his volume of posts; most of the arguments he made on day 1 concerning Novice/Rowain had been posted before by myself or someone else. However I haven't found any major self-contradictions or smoking guns such as "this vote is horrible" which I lynched him for last game. Therefore he remains in the grey area as of now. If he is town I would like him to spend more time THINKING about the game and coming up with his own theories before he posts.

On the main page of the scraper there is a last updated timestamp and a link to perform a new update.

So we've entered the euro sleep time. Better post rate.

Not entirely true. The scum who actually had the card passes it to Serdoa while you claim to have done so. I believe I've outlined this several times (including before it happened, with 'Serdoa' being 'a random villager') as how I'd be progressing from a fake miller claim as scum.
Still think you're overwhelmingly likely to be town, but what happened does actually make perfect sense even if you aren't.

Arguments against Selrahc appear to be a mix of meta-hate and Ryan flailing. Neither of which I consider good reasons to lynch - Ryan's main value appears to be coming up with completely incorrect arguments have having them corrected (which ensures everyone else is on the same page, at minimum), while I personally consider productive meta discussion to actually be quite useful a lot of the time - especially if we know a reasonable amount about the game set-up, like we do here. No real read here.

Waterbat's claimed bomb, which I'm inclined to put in the villager camp for now, if only because it would be fairly pointless on scum - only possible kill it can activate on is the vig-shot, and they're not going to pass it and risk being hit after it's passed further.

Serdoa is fairly safe town. No-one disputed bulletproof, and I *really* can't see scum voluntarily declining a night kill this early. Probably the closest thing we have to 'confirmed town' IMO.

MJW shot someone who was overwhelmingly going to be lynched, meaning we actually had to engage in discussion for the rest fo the day - and he left plenty of time for us to do that discussion in. I'd say this gives him town leanings, though scum opportunisticly taking out a villager could be an explanation. I'd've been more inclined to save it as late as possible and hit town with a day kill they didn't know was coming to win the game / force MyLo a day earlier, were I scum.

Assuming Azza is being truthful, his actions make sense regardless of his faction. Village wants the liar outed, because liars are scum. Scum wants the non-scum liar outed, as he's an extremely easy mis-lynch that should gain you slight town cred.

Ryan... while killing him off would make the game significanly easier (and shorter) to read, I don't know that he's doing anything particularly scum-favoured. Unless he's actually completely sane and is just emulating Tasunke for cover tongue

Didn't particularly like uberfish's initial arguments to get the Tasunke train rolling this morning, but they didn't seem excessively out of character, either. Hence why I went after someone who jumped on that wagon for parroting, rather than the initiator of it.

To be honest, haven't put that much thought into the rest. Anyone comes up with particularly convincing arguments (well, I suppose even remotely convincing would probably do at this stage), give a yell.

For now, Azza. The claim does not actually give any village lean, given Tasunke's flip, and lockpicks seem to be (meta-wise) significantly more useful for scum to start with.

Reading through I'd be okay with lynching one of Azza, Uberfish or Selrahc atm.

Simple. He alluded to having a powerful item, likely the gun. If he was scum, it had to be taken from him, and if he was village, I didn't trust him to be able to use it effectively. I honestly thought he was scum based on how he'd been playing, and when catching him out lying I was certain of it, but apparently he was just playing a terrible village game...
