That's my point! You are basing Mero's guilt off of your perceived Waterbat's guilt, but you "can't" lynch waterbat because it would be anti-town. You are anti-town.

If I may ask, what is making you suspicious of me, other than the fact I'm generally sleeping when people decide to add another 5 pages to the thread?

Thing is he just reminds me a lot of WW16 waterbat where he ended up as my lynchbait. I agree that there is a possibility of scum piggybacking me earlier to get at waterbat, but I also think he was suspicious at that point. And it makes sense. Waterbat was playing to be night killed. He was trying to act in a specific manner and ironically it made him seem more suspicious. So my point is that while he reds very villagery now, at that time he was reading scummy or at the least lazy and no read. I do not think Mero is suspicious for that.

Lewwyn, I find it interesting that you write within one post:

"Waterbat was playing to be night killed, he was trying to act in a specific manner"
"He reads very villagery now, at that time he was reading scummy or at the least lazy and no read"

So your reason to consider waterbat town is that he played in a specific way, that was read by you and several other players as scummy or at least lazy, but which you now believe he did to appear as a good night-kill target. Seriously? Might I ask, wouldn't it be easier to really hunt scum? It makes me a nightkill-target every time I do it, completely without the need to appear lazy or lie to the village.

@zak: I'm not completely agreeing with your post (I read Tasunke, Lewwyn and Mattimeo differently) but I agree with your conclusion about Merovech.

Mattimeo - I didn't really see the votes for Tasunke prior to his claim as inherently suspicious. We did need him to claim. I was kind of taking it for granted he would claim when he got on, so I didn't join, but if he had posted without claiming, I would have been quick to vote for him, too.

That reminds me of this, though:

Nice claim you have there.

Why did you highlight this during the night phase?

Its the bunny. And the fact that yes you haven't been especially active. And the long post earlier where you went through a bunch of suspects and listed a couple thoughts on each that were not really telling about your position on anyone. Example:

Quote:Ryan... while killing him off would make the game significanly easier (and shorter) to read, I don't know that he's doing anything particularly scum-favoured. Unless he's actually completely sane and is just emulating Tasunke for cover tongue

Didn't particularly like uberfish's initial arguments to get the Tasunke train rolling this morning, but they didn't seem excessively out of character, either. Hence why I went after someone who jumped on that wagon for parroting, rather than the initiator of it.

Here are two of your chosen people. Instead of actually telling me what you think about these people it feels like you are simply doing a play by play. Its like you are describing the situation instead of scum hunting. In particular the Uberfish one says you didn't like it but "then its not out of character so oh well". Its so noncommittal.

Add in the fact that your scumbuddy Zak throws the "Three M's" out there and A) casts more aspersions on MJW (but doesn't vote there because he's already pretty town leaning) then B) throws out you his token scum just in case he or you are caught cover either way, and C) Mero his mislynch target.

Well that's the thing I don't think Waterbat knows how to hunt scum effectively to begin with. Have you ever seen him hunt scum effectively in any game? Like... ever? If he does he usually ends up putting his foot in his mouth and getting mislynched. When he's scum he's a much more convincing scum hunter...

If I knew Waterbat was scum, I'd lynch him. Since I only suspect he is scum, it makes sense to let him live another day. That way, if he is scum, we force him to give the gas can to someone else. And even if he gives it to one of his buddies, we can then force that buddy to pass it on again. I think it was Serdoa who mentioned he could just pretend he was unable to pass it on. But I don't think he can, unless I missed something. If he is innocent, there is no way he would be unable to pass it on. Even if he sends it to someone who is killed, the can will be destroyed and should presumably appear in the write-up. Meanwhile, by letting Waterbat live, we can still lynch him tomorrow, or maybe we're lucky and some information turns up that clears him.

Maybe it would be better to just lynch him today, gas can be damned, but I don't see how my stance is anti-town. (If you can explain how it really is, then I will change it.)

Inflicting WIFOM on scum is quite an enjoyable activity, so I will often engage in such activity when an easy opportunity presents itself.

Also, if I just post shit as I see it, I get less emotionally invested in the game, and I'm less likely to sink into incoherent rage when I inevitably get unjustly lynched.
