Wow. In the time it took me to type that up Q posted another map with less water smile

I'm fine with something like that new map.

I like the ambassoder idea tbh.
I'd prefer if only certain units could get it though.

We're going with the "honour" double move rule right?

It's more then one map btw, just look at the minimap.
You need 25% for circumnavigation, so I think thats our bottom limit.
DO you want me to post some of the saves?

I think 30% works for me

And yes, we will use the honour rule for double moves

I'd say those setting above, with the 30%, look about perfect. Would some lurker be willing to roll? Has someone PM'd or emailed sunrise?

I prefer something where water is abundant, but pre-optics contact/circumnav is available, so Big_and_small, a lakes script, archipelago/snakey/low sea etc.

I'd rather the lakes thing, though I can go with consensus.
I didn't realise 18 was off a different script, I thought it was just full_of_resources with some interesting settings.
I use FoR a bit, so if the roller needs advice on settings I can point them out (not saying I should choose them, but working out the resources x1.5 et al can be a little daunting).

If we go with public diplo, it should be before contact IMO.

Big and small is hella fun. look at the pb5 map for an example. or pb8, I guess, if you're global lurking - I assume they've pieced togethor the full map in the lurkers lounge.

its actually passed fractcal as my favorite random map - i've rolled several and played a couple of SP games to prep for pb8.

if you do the same settings we have in pb8 you may have people on an island, but they should be connected by galleys.

OTOH it might be boring to use the same map settings as a currently running PB smile

The other settings I am changing (for the mapmaker, but also in case anyone wants to alter it) is to shift grass to rich, Desert to dispersed, tudra to dispersed, snow to traces. Forest value is changed from 40->60, jungle value from 80->50.
We can also change the frquency of mountains, hills, oasis' rivers, and ice - but I did not alter them.
To multiply the frequency of resources by 1.5, go to the resource tab and change the first scroll-down (from the left) from strategic resources-> all.
A new row should appear, go onto the second down and second to the left and change the sewlection from resources of health->All.
A new row should appear, go onto the second down and second to the left and change the sewlection from resources of happiness->All.
There should be four columns.
Change the first THREE to 1.5.

This is what it should lopok like

There are other tabs you can alter, but we probably won't.
When your done, press Confirm and Exit and your at the normal screen.
The settings to the right should be just large/normal/ancient (I don't think climate or sealevel matter, but leave it high/temperate just in case).

B&S does look fun (and no, still no map for the lurkers frown) but I think we all want something different.

makes sense. Im not sure modifying the default forest after civs have been assigned is a good idea? seems like it benefits the 3 IND civs frown regardless you've certainly made it a builders paradise.

maybe I'm nitpicking, I don't even know TT feels that way and its his team. Thats just my gut though.
