So do I get a Shock promo out of that? Or am I bound to be Impi-meat?
Edit: Wait, no, what I really want is a city garrison 2 promo, and a promise that's the only promo I need

Sez the chicken. Alas, I'm not Chm (try the next game over, PBEM44), so the 4xp on Mardoc's Company is only Combat 1. Or CGII, if you want, but who would get any use out of that? Seriously, if impi are able to strike into Willowbrooke itself they're able to pillage, so...

So, domestics this turn: Whipped Lakeside Garden, which means we're mustering MAXIMUM OVERFLOW into the next build, a shiny new axe. Nice an all, though Thoth is right, we need those other two hills in the west mined, that will be a massive 17 hammers per turn. Ah well, if wishes were copper, we'd have axes.
Tranquil Meadow couldn't be finagled into an axe next turn, but it can just cheerfully work this spare cottage and next turn it'll be whipped into a 1-turn axe the turn after, plus hey, bonus worker! Mathematics, by the way, is five turns to research after 2.1 turns of saving gold, so it's eight turns away. Any bets on any of these trees still being here by that point?
Verdant Acres, home to "good food and nothing else" is of course my little whipping boy here. The much-needed archer will rush to the front, and then the next turn it's axe-or-spear time (depending, naturally, on whether or not Scoopin's cancelled the horse trade with Azza). As a note, if Azza needs horse, we'll trade 'em...for gold.
Last and pretty much least, here's Hidden Valley. Chop out the archer, and then whip in an axe, and then we can consider fluffy things like "growing" and "granaries" and "camping deer tiles". Assuming, you know, events don't warrant even more abuse.
Hate to do it, but I think we've made up for our earlier restraint Re: Whipping them all bloody.

Welp, peace rejection, third impi, ow. I can play this game too, mates.
So hail Azza...
...hook iron...
...prepare to chop another archer...
...whip core for axemen...
...and move Guerrilla Mardoc's Company north to cover that +75% defense hill.
It's war time, folks. As a note, given security, I'd probably have been content to let lie and REX in peace for a while, but while I lack metal and they have Noble and impis, no way in hell would I demilitarize. So this is where we are, King of the Lower Moosesnake. Let's hope for better luck than previously, and enjoy the show folks.

At least two of them still standing for a Lib would be nice.
Speaking of Libs.....
A couple of Post Math chops into Verdant Acres Lib would let us run a pair of scientists for an Academy in the Cap. It'll take 17t to pop our first GS from the time we start running the scientists.
Workerwise: Our count is very good, but we'll need to shuffle a couple from the Iron towards the Capital/VA/Sandhurst ect.

So, rather obviously, I declined action this turn. It felt weird, normally I'd take the chance on killing something, but metal being so limited, I need play cautiously. No axes in the east yet, although Cornflakes is coming, and inefficient chops managed to squeak an extra archer in both Hidden Valley and Willowbrooke. This will bring me to a total of eight archers once more.
The event log shows why Serdoa had the big score bump: A great lighthouse in his Oracle city. Given Xenu's already adopted Buddhism, I'll bet a GPro wouldn't be tragic for Mr. Wonder out there. You'll also note a kindly old RNG provided a much-needed boost to the forests around Tranquil Meadow, that's going to be good.
TM, for its part, is cheerfully finishing an axe, which will bring us to three of those next turn. It'll get another cottage in time to regrow, giving that southern one to Lakeside Garden. It hurts to whip so hard, but I think we've upset our little Zulu buddies out there.
Sharp-eyed lurkers will note above, we're making those axes out of bronze, not steel. I'm not going to help Azza for nothing, but given he's Chm (+2 happy) it's not hard for him to spare gold as well. He took the trade! My regular checks for Scooter canceling the horse trade show nothing yet, by the way, but don't worry, I'm watching still.
So that's a whopping three luxuries now, and gems are on the horizon at least. I think this could be the beginning of something beautiful, let's hope the meanie Zulus don't wreck it.

I should hope so.
Without metals we managed to trade 1 war, 1 chariot, and 3 (4?) Archers for an Impi, an Axe, a Warrior and a captured worker.
Now we have Copper.
Overall, it's looking solid Commodore.

Slip of the tongue? That picture shows a Colossus in the event log, not a Great Lighthouse.
