First game of EitB

Hello everyone, this is the first time I post in your forum. I am an old user of CivFanatics and I saw your mod listed there and got me interested. I reallty would like a version of FFH2 that allows fun and balance using all the civs. For example I like playing with the Doviello or Illians and get frustrated that their options in FFH2 are not equal to other civs. So I am happy you are developing this mod, since I know nothing about modding, but I enjoy playing and thank you all for your effort.

Ok, to the point, I installed what I think is the latest version of EitB (v0009 or so) and had my first game with the following settings:

Random Civ
against 13 AI Random Civs
Medium Map
Erebus Continent
Epic Speed
Monarch difficulty (usually play on Emperor but as this was 1st time using EitB I went with Monarch)

So I got the Hippus led by Rhoanna. Right away the fun began, since I got three nice neighbours: Balseraphs and Clan on the South, Svartalfar very close to the North. Chain of mountains to the West (I really like that Erebus Continent script) and Cassiel to the East, he would become my all game ally.

With such neighbours I followed the natural road of the Hippus, straight to Warhorses, and I subjugated my enemies with military power... hordes of Horse Archers won me a Domination Victory.

I enjoyed most of the changes that you have made, in the tech tree and trying to balance the strength of units. Just few observations:

- Religions ---> Ljosalfar founded RoK and Bannor FoL... I think it lorewise it would make more sense that Elves go straight for FoL and dwarves for RoK.

- Factions ---> I was fighting three evil Civs (Balseraphs, Svartalfar and Clan) and I got a -3 in relations with Sabathiel because of "declaring war on his friends"... I think good-evil enemyship should be stronger, maybe "-10 you are evil/good", "-5 you are neutral"

- Vassals ---> I was the first to discover Feudalism and immediately some Civs ask for my protection, including Auric... A GOD asking me to become my vassal... And as I was on the domination road I agreed... I don't know, I would like that some leaders were so proud, that would rather die than being vassalized... just and idea.

Well, I must say that I enjoyed the game and I will be playing again soon. Thanks to all modders for their work and for keeping this great game alive. Cheers!

Yeah religions are whacked atm.
I don't think any of those are EitB problems though.

I usually just turn off vassal states, since they don't fit most of the civs' flavour. It's quite easy to script proper AI religions anyway.

Yeah, that seems to be a good option Greywolf, turning Vassal States off. I used to do that playing the original FFH2. I think I'll go back to that setting in my next EitB game.

Qgq, I know these are not problems unique to EitB. Just some suggestions on my side, if the team of EitB find them not good I'm sure they will just ignore them.

Well, it's just Sareln. And he's pretty busy in real life, too. So he might ignore your suggestions despite them being good, at least until he gets caught up.
