National epics :P. ill probably be forced to be flexible if we are able to get many more cities, but Black Sabbath songs are a little bit of a stretch.

It's a Welsh legend in which stolen pigs feature, and cause a war. Trust the Welsh to be less epic in their war decs than us Irish.

I might go with it. thinking out loud, my new plan: hold beowulf as long as possible. pray, hope for luck. we'll keep it size 1 so it will auto raze. when the damn finally breaks we offer the aenid to azza for peace. we'll have 1 axe and some archers in theodyssey if he doesnt, probably 1 archer in the aenid just to make him split his forces. I'm pretty confident we can hold theodyssey long enough to get more axes built once pig city is online. anyway, the western cities build mostly axes, maybe a spear/archer or two. pig city builds granary, stable, then pumps out C1 horse archers. with enough axes and horse archers we should be able to retake some ground. eventually. pig city will have massive production and we can chop out a lot to help as well. we can produce a shitload of horse archers and Krill him . maybe eventually gilgamesh can pop out another horse archer to fill the horse/sheep spot between pig city and the odyssey as well. OTOH, azza has whipped his cities to shreds to get that army so will be slower to reinforce. our economy will also be stronger, so hopefully we can nab machinery in the next 40 turns so, long story short, we will likely have to give ground (beowulf and the aenid) but I think in the long term we can take that ground back, if we stay calm and don't panic.

What other epic has been put to album, in the process redefining musical genres even as it invents them? Oh and if you ever visit Ireland don't call the Táin obscure. It is as much part of our culture as supporting Celtic, and calling them across the water, "them across the water", and Irish-Americans "them across the pond". Quote:thinking out loud, my new plan: Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't a city only autoraze if it never grew past size 1? Or has the mod changed this feature? On the rest of your plan, I can't fault it (mainly for lack of a better idea myself)

ok, maybe someone can explain this to me:
as you can see from the trade icons next to their names, we have a trade connection with brick and commodore. Ok, well we've made contact with Brick and he was nice enough to explore enough of our coast to unlock that. however, we have not yet made contact with commodore. How is it I have a trade connection with someone I haven't even met yet but can't get one with azza? also, Serdoa declined the map trade, no shocker there. I was logged in when he logged in and got a message that said "serdoa is trying to contact you" I opened up the chat window but he didn't say anything or offer a new deal. I guess thats just because he got the pop up for my trade offer while I was logged in??? I don't think azza can attack this turn. we have an archer with 40% defensive bonus (20 for culture + 20 for city guard protective promotion), and axe with 45% (culture plus fortify), an spears with 45% and 20% (the second has no fortify bonus). he only has 2 axes that can attack, and one or both might lose. the 2 spears and 4 chariots would get cut to pieces if he attacks. he will probably move his praet in and attack next turn. we'll see I guess.

maybe serdoa was more free with his map trading to commodore... or brick exchanged maps with Commodore.
either way, its possible that he can now see a coastal trade route to you. you need some land route to azza because neither he nor you has defogged a coastal route.

Brick doesnt have writing. So can we conclude then that Commodore has writing and did a map trade with brick? thats great news, actually, because when we eventually get writing and trade with brick we can pick up commodore's map as well . now if only serdoa would bend! here's a question: odysseus can return to the jungled hill overlooking one of azza's cities in 5 turns. if we are lucky and it isn't defended by a spear now, we can strike it the next turn (last time we saw it it had an axe). or we can just continue scouting and try to find xenu and reveal more of serdoa's territory. probably need to decide now which we would rather do.
