T-hawk Wrote:invy, please edit your post. Our cardinal rule is no spoilers until report day. Reporting on anything that happened in your game - your result and tech pace - is crossing the no-spoilers line. In the interest of fairness, we can't have later players gleaning information from your posts that earlier players did not have. I understand you're excited, but "Game Complete" is where the discussion needs to stop until report day.

Thanks!

Ah again, ok sorry I will be careful. Its funny, I didn't think its a spoiler, I mean game speed and victory type are subjective to a player, I didn't say anything relevant.

Anyway, I'll keep quiet till games are finished.

I think it's worth revisiting the topic of spoilers, since we do have some newer players around that may not have seen all the historical discussions.

invy, what you posted wasn't a spoiler for the game per se, but it was for the competition. Knowledge that you reached a pace of X turns per tech can skew the approach of later players. Now a later player will know that if they can exceed that speed, they can beat you by going for the same victory type. Or conversely, a slower pace should go for a different result. Players who finished before you did not have that same information.

We do allow "Game Complete" posts for community purposes. It encourages participation to know who else in the community is playing and reporting. And unavoidable is the inference that a "game complete" post with a positive comment (even a smiley) probably means a victory. But that's as far as we go.

There is some gray area, particularly in the area of speculative pre-game strategizing and discussion. That's up to each sponsor for their game. I think such discussions build anticipation and excitement, although some sponsors disagree. But anything along the lines of "X happened in my game" is clearly verboten. (I don't mean to pick on you specifically, invy. smile Just hoping to help all understand the policy.)

in that light ... game complete ... only problem is that the game is now complete and I have to fall back to the currently open Epic.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Game complete. Had tons of fun with this one, and even have time to write a decent report. Assuming I don't spend it all on the Pax Americana gama....
