Is Jan's this weekend or next weekend? Already made my GvG predictions, was going to make the 1v1 predictions as well but only 1 of the names looked even vaguely familiar.

Should be this weekend. For 1v1 we should make mucco post his picks, he got 75 RPs from HB predictions. (Then again I bet he used "random favorite names" method.)

The monthly day is written on the tourny page of Tolkano - it's the 24th it seems.

I'll likely post my picks the 23rd, EST morning but don't wait for me because I'm so bad and probably got lucky last month.

Your selections are too early Bozack.

It's fair enough to make choices this early in case you forget later, but even better to get in just ahead of the event and put the final choices in then. That way you can get around 20 Keys per account instead of scraping for 5 or 10, because some of the safe bets, like Rebel Rising, don't qualify until quite late in the game.

Hmm there's a thought. I still haven't heard about what's going to be done about the match fixing incident last month.

Rawr and Zero pulled an Intentional Draw in the last swiss round because they didn't feel like fighting, whether because the tiebreaker was dumb and it didn't matter for playoff results, or they thought it was the best way to ensure entrance into playoffs, not clear (ultimately it had no effect). IDs are apparently an alien concept to people who have never looked at other competitive games with draw conditions (let alone hero battles), and so their conga-line on observer caused quite a ruckus in the community.

So in response Anet took Rawr and Zero's capes back (rawr for just a month since they've won it a billion times over). They can still compete freely in this upcoming tournament. And you ought to have Rawr in the #1 slot, the last skill adjustments only made them stronger.

I personally felt it was a good thing they punished the two guilds, and that's an italian speaking IDs do defeat the spirit, if not the rules, of a game. The bad thing is that HB is super full of intentional draws and nobody cares, meh.

But all this is totally off topic so I'll edit this post into my predictions in two weeks. Advice for betters: do your predictions in the last day or two - [rawr] usually qualifies for the monthly very late, thus it pops up on the XTH list only in the last days.
