It delays the mids a turn...
But might be the only option.

Turn 59
So I've got one important decision this turn. If I'm going to land Pyramids this turn Dario needs to chop this forest, but Azza can then capture the worker with his Keshik (which ignores terrain movement costs). My spear then has 66% odds on his Keshik, after which the axe should clean it up. If he deletes the worker that's an exchange of 33 hammers for 40 hammers, if he doesn't he's lost 33 hammers (although I might lose a spear). He has about 12 Keshiks now (unless he's been building axes too).
It just doesn't seem like a good deal for him, so I think I'll chop the forest and hope that he understands that. I've offered open borders as a sign of friendship... After pressing end turn I got the pyramids so fingers crossed it's worth it...
In the east I'm starting to build cottages for Barnet, and will begin a library next turn.
Over in the west I think Darlington is going to be a commerce city too so I've started a library.
And over at Azza's place I'm about to do some snooping.
Meanwhile Serdoa has landed the great lighthouse. Oh dear.

Turn 60
So it's been a while for this turn to come in due to my dithering over Azza, a fast worker and the pyramids, pressing end turn, changing my mind and knackering the save for Hydra. Am I right in thinking changing my mind about a worker turn or a build is okay as long as I'm not revealing tiles or skimming combat odds, or should I be absolutely sure about my movements before executing them? (I know there is no way of you guys checking, but I want to be sure I'm sticking to the spirit of the game.)
Aaaaaanyway - Azza didn't declare and steal my worker. Although he also didn't open borders with me
And Pointy thingies!
So we revolt to Representation, and discover that Azza just declared on Hydra. Oh dear. I think the fighting will be down here somewhere, so I'll take the scout down to investigate. Who is your favourite war reporter? No war weariness yet though, so fighting is still to come...
Five of my cities are now getting the rep happy bonus, so I'll try to grow them asap, I'm building a lot of cottages but I also want to work specialists (yeah I know - lack of synergy) so will probably do that in Altrincham, Darlington and Forest Green.
Halifax will found next turn, without a military escort - very risky, but I need to try to keep up with Serdoa (and I had scouted the lie of the land with a fast worker first).
Power - I'd guess that Hydra finally got around to building some spears.

Espionage - I'm focusing on the score leader, would be nice to get research visibility to see when he gets near to Cataphracts...

Halifax is founded, once the borders pop this will have amazing food. Was it a waste of worker turns to chop the forest from the city square for 8 hammers in Exeter? It works out at just over two hammers for each worker turn - If I'd thought about it I'd probably have done something different...
Currency is a long way off (seven turns I think) and I've just noticed that Stonehenge is still available. Only Serdoa and I have stone, he's Creative and the other two are still at war, so I'm tempted. What do you think? Is it a sidetrack? Seems a shame to waste it at only 40 hammers (including discount)...
Speaking of the war Hydra has war weary of 4, while Azza has none. I'll get around to figuring out how that works at some point...

with stone why wouldnt you grab stonehenge? the alternative is building monuments in all cities, or libraries in non commerce cities, or being very patient and waiting for religion. stonehenge comes ahead in hammers to all of these, especially with stone
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Serdoa got the Hanging Gardens I wonder if that was his second choice after Pyramids? Looks like he was aiming for a clean sweep - I hope he isn't angry!
Here is the battlefield... WW indicates both Azza and Hydra lost a unit this turn. Jimmy Glass the war reporter will be on the scene next turn.
Stonehenge in Darlington in two turns, it's cheaper than the library I had planned! I was very tempted to put it Forest Green (and had put some hammers into it) to push back borders with Azza, but thought it would be a bit tempting, and it would take five turns...

Hydra's war weariness is 24, Azza's is 8, meaning we've just missed out on a great battle around here somewhere.
Stonehenge is due next turn and very soon there will be cottages all around Altrincham, Barnet, Crewe and Darlington. I haven't really got a production city earmarked. That could be a mistake... I'm also hoping to get Currency in 4 turns, the gold/research balance is a bit delicate at the moment.
Power
Demos - Azza lost a lot of power this turn. I wish I understood war weariness...

Azza wants open borders, he's got four cities to my eight, which may be something to do with all those Keshiks. I'm getting 2gpt from all my trade routes at the moment, so I don't see open borders helping me, but if I'm his only foreign trade maybe he'll want to be friends. Or he'll scout me out... So what do you guys think?
Stonehenge! Not bad for 40 hammers. You can see on the left of the picture that we may have built it a bit near the beach - when does global warming happen?
Here is the war zone. If Hydra upgrades the Quetcha or builds a new spear on his turn I can't see Azza winning. If not it might be close...
Serdoa has currency already, I'll get it in two turns, he might be on his way to calander, which I'd like for the happy resources. The Mausoleum of Maussollos might be available, but I don't have any cities where I can chop it easily and I don't have Marble yet. I'll be settling on the marble soon. Then MOM costs 301 hammers, with marble and Organised Religion that becomes about 130 hammers. Or six chops and ten hammers. Halifax has 3 forests, a pig gold city will have 5, the desert north of the sheep has 7. Also note Serdoa's grey territory on the silver meaning he's settled 1NW of it. I want a very strong border up here, but a wonder makes it a tempting border...
In the east the sugar, rice city has four forests, while a more aggressive tundra hill has 7.
Down south either of these cities get five chops, but they don't inspire me much.
Power
Demos - looking at the power stats I'm last by 20,000 soldiers. I need to get a few more units up around Exeter, just in case Serdoa wants to make himself the runaway leader. At the moment I've just got a spear and the zone defence axe...

So it looks like Azza's assault on Hydra is over - only one Keshik left that I can see... I took open borders with Azza as I don't think he's in a position to come after me just now.
And Hydra has a Great General to play with...
It also looks like Serdoa is gearing up for something big I'd guess some of that is Iron Working, and some swords. Hopefully he's planning on annexing the now-weakend Azza rather than coming after Exeter...
I've got axes being produced (or at least getting some hammers in for later whipping) in case those are swords (I don't think 2-movers wouldn't be that useful for attacking Exeter). I'll have 2 spears and 2 axe in two turns, but I'll also have a border pop there next turn that will give extra warning. Probably worth thinking about some walls too. Once I've got currency I'll save a bit of money to see where Serdoa is going, then Construction might be a good idea instead of Calendar...
I've switched workers to building mines to help the possible war effort and I'm shipping a couple over to Grimsby to get it up and running.
Barnet is supposed to be my main troop pump, and can get three chariots out in the next four turns once the library is complete - but should it be producing something slower and more effective vs swords?

I didn't say anything before, global lurker, but OB was the right choice...you mention you have +2c IC-TRs, but then show Currency 2 turns away...
