Diplomacy Master Thread- Helping Your Opponents Beat Themselves

Just thought of a diplo talking point we could use: we have a NAP with germans, maybe they are taking maximum time on turns to delay its expiration as much as possible.

Also, if someone asks about german NAP duration and we don't want to say: We have a NAP with germans for probably the next 5 years given how they are playing. But we did not realize this when we signed it.

CFC Wrote:Hi Scooter,

Thanks for that information! Between the two of us, I think we've been able to locate everyone but CivFr. It seems like your initial map speculation was pretty accurate, and we can fill in some of those blanks now that we know what position the other teams are in.

Let us know if you need new directions to the Spaniards. There is a mountain range blocking a direct route east, so you'll have to go a little north when you leave our borders in order to hit their borders. They've just planted a new city in our direction, so you will be able to contact them pretty quickly, if you'd like. Have you met UCiv, yet? They are located north of us, so we could give you directions to them if you would prefer.

We've had to keep most of our units at home to protect us from the barbs, but we were just able to send a chariot your way, so I'll be visiting you shortly. We got an earlier view of the land around the world-renowned (and well-named) Mansa's Muse, and we look forward to seeing how the rest of your land puts ours to shame.

See you soon!
Caledorn

At least I had missed this. I'm sorry if this was pasted here already. It seems we are getting CFC visitors in a while.

And it also seems like they have already recognized our potential to achieve run-away status. Not the most encouraging there.

CFC has moved up a chariot to our borders, just as they told us they'd do earlier. It's called Ambassador Caledorn. It's currently 1W of the oasis. We can probably tell them that the fastest route to our road network is either W->NW-W or N-NW->W-SW/NW.

CFC also offered directions to Univers, and I think we should ask for them. They're closer neighbours than the Spanish, and with a stronger play.

Hmm.. Should we be worried for our worker if that Chariot moves W? Probably not? They would not declare because of a single worker at this stage of the game?

EDIT: Furthermore, if they see our workers roading, do they make the conclusion that we are settling the oasis area? Does it matter? (Nevermind, if they are chopping,)

We have a NAP. If we losea worker finding out they're willing to opportunistically break it, that's a cheap price to pay. Anyway, there's zero chance they'll break the NAP. At least until they discover pink dot and Eastern Dealers.
I have to run.

Well, I'm pretty sure sullla is cancelling all worker actions, but since we have open borders, they can use waypoint tricks to determine if there are any turns into road or chop there.
