Well, he took the deal. The plan is on.
I'm absolutely terrified to see where our units will teleport to honestly. Teleportation rules are pretty nonsensical (I'm convinced there's an RNG roll in there somewhere), and getting screwed by a teleport would be the most typical thing ever.

Why would deportation be bad? He's not at war with you, and I doubt there's any barbs in the area (your war having fogbusted the area.

Kalin Slight necro, but id also like to hear the answer to this.

Alright, T102 played now. I just realized we don't have to deal with the turn split for awhile. Yay! I didn't go right into T103 though just in case - figured we could chat about it tonight if you'll be around. Anyways, whipped the galley out of In-N-Out as planned:
I really hope the whip anger counters don't wear off when Commodore takes these . This one is going to rack up a lot in the remaining turns. I've queued up a galley in LJS over the axe:
Reason is basically what we were saying last night - I think limitation may be galley space more than military. We've got a pretty good standing army ready to roll:
Plus an Impi up north. Also an axe/impi on this galley:
As I said, we probably could have waited to load, but I fear we may run into a situation where we can't afford to come back and pick units up, so might as well load up 2 now. Finally, let's clear all forests possible:
Even ones outside our borders - if they net a few hammers, it's worth it. Same down here:
We're going with the full Isengard routine here. Note - one thing with galleys - the more the better because we'll want to save some workers too if possible (plus the settler we'll inevitably need). I think the first couple galleys off the line should ferry random units up to a "staging island" up north or something. Might enhance our ability to save units.

I'll answer kalin's question later, I missed it earlier.
Whip counters are per person, so no, he won't have the unhappiness. If somehow we got the city back the counter would still be active for us (I think it decrements in the meantime though, not sure).

I'd rather this thread not derail onto drama, so I'll just say that the short version is PBEM38 ended with a lot of animosity for a variety of reasons, and they were both involved in that game. I'm not interested in this becoming a PBEM38 discussion thread, so we'll leave it at that.
fake-edit: I see Noble's post now. To make it clear: I'd really rather not see that stuff discussed in this thread.

Teleportation rules are really bizarre and complex, and I've seen even extremely experienced players guess completely wrong. In this case the most likely place for them to land was in our borders, which thankfully is what happened. However, if by some act of teleportation mechanics witchcraft we had landed northwest of McDonalds, we would have had to circle almost a dozen units all the way around his culture. On top of that, the borders will pop for him pretty quickly, so it would have been an even longer trek. It would have made things pretty dicey timing-wise and just been all-around bad for our plan.

My first thought was to protest the galley but we probably are better served by the quickest and heaviest (most units) strike we can put together. So impi and chariot early and sprinkle in a cat or two late.
As for the workers, don't worry about shuttling them. They will go on a second wave, probably staying in our island plant while we launch our attack.
Can someone post the following hammer values for:
* 4th ring chop outside cultural borders
* 3rd ring chop outside cultural borders
I don't think we have any 5th ring to chop

That's basically how I feel. He has GLH, which means his capital and the bulk of his early cities are all coastal (they might even all be coastal). With some luck (a non-trivial amount of it), we can maybe snatch a few of these cities with just a unit or two in them. I know if I was India on an island it would be warriors in every city for awhile. The likely invasion plan is something like:
1) Capture cities amphibiously with axes if possible (if it's just warrior defense type thing)
2) If we see something inland, a mobile chariot/Impi force can sprint to grab those (same applies if we see copper)
3) Follow-up with a couple catapults for when they finally mass something of substance
4) Get lucky a few times
Sounds fun. So ok, let's get this galley out of LJS now and then get a catapult probably. And we have a partially finished axe we'll overflow into at some point - maybe on a turn we don't have a chop coming in.
I think next turn (103) I'll do another round of begging for map trades and just hope we get lucky. I don't want to do it EVERY turn and just annoy people, but lucking into India's maps would be a big, big deal. Obviously.
