It's a real pleasure to hear from you again, Doc. I decided to re-install after a bit of mucking around with other life issues only to find that you have just recently started playing again as well.
With any luck, we'll bump into each other.

Thank you kindly, ma'am!
I last saw you on Hellgate. A bit of a pity that it shut down before I could ever get a better Computer to play it.

Hi,
Doc Wrote:I've had an extended AFK. I haven't been well. I've been recovering a bit though and trying to play a few computer games to help me restore some of my coordination. Talk about synchronicity. Haven't been around for a while myself, kinda slipping in and out the last four years. Actually logged in here to see if I could find out what happened to my beloved nemesis, and lo there you are
Sorry to hear about your stroke. I'm glad you're getting back enough use of your hands to communicate. Hope that the overall prognosis is good.
Not much of a chance that I'll see you online -- just had another eye operation, but I still can't see too well. Maybe in a few months if all goes well.
I'm still hanging in the Lounge. Drop by sometime, I'm sure I'm not the only one that mises you.
Take care,

KoP SPeaking of old, Diablo II just go Old for me, again.
I am off the ladder for the moment.
All chars deleed.
All accounts will be allowed to expire. The non ladder chars will be allowed to stay around until RB Low Rent finishes.
The Low Rent finale is one or two raids away.
After that, I await the new ladder, or, I let it all rest until D III comes out.
A here and there Soft Core with my son will be the limit of my gaming in Diablo II.

I suspect that without the break provided by the ill-fated Hellgate: London, I would feel the same way.
One thing you might want to check out with your son (if you have not done so already) is Median Diablo. It is different enough that it may be more fun for both of you because you will be learning together and not 'the old man coaching the young'un through'. YYMV, but my sons rather liked that aspect of it. ;-)

Lasting as long as you have is amazing. I not only had the Hellgate London break, but an Oblivion break and, before that, a three year or so break playing WOW. I could never have played this game straight through.

He and I have a couple on west, the two of us experimenting a bit, and on east it's very much fun with ladder monkeys with me not having any interest in their "mad loot" and my son beginning to understand why I feel that way.
But we have fun. On the rare occasions we play.
