Yesterday i ran into a new disco/rejoin issue never observed before. Since i'm out of options on my side of the game i opened this thread on b.net tech support forum for help or at least clarification. Let's see if they come up with something as i fear to run into this again with our current disco rate in LowRent.

Now there is something new on disconnections from games. I just were in a game with Shadow when my daily ISP disconnect happend. As usual i restarted the game since it wasn't a clean disconnect. After my DSL got a new ip assigned i reconnected to b.net and rejoined the game. All fine so far.

Now guess what: after about 30 seconds in the game i get the dreaded "Your connection has been interrupted" messages and was kicked straight out of b.net! Logging back in it showed me that "try again later" message instead of my chars huh

Reconnected to the internet once again, logged back into b.net, selected character, rejoined game and BAMM 30 seconds later i'm kicked out of the game and back in channel. I could now log off and on without a problem but i can't stay in a game. I tried rejoining Shadow several times and even creating a new game only to get the same result.

So i closed down D2 and went to delete the bncache.dat file. Now windows told me it's in use huh After checking Task Manager i noted that there still was a stalled game.exe (no window at all) running. Killed that off, fired the game up again and now it worked fine again.

A good example that Warden is really working.

We had a few disconnection as well, this morning til noon with Shadow, Thenryb.

I don't know, I am almost grateful for disconnects - Rather than having lag/spikes. The way my thought process goes, I bound to get kill by a spike sooner or later. The disconnections we have been experiencing are at least clean disconnects....

But it's getting rather annoying and starting to happen outside of lowrent games. Just this morning I had to reconnect 8 times to get the last council member. Seem it happened every time I stepped into the temple.

Lag Spikes are the real reason why I never played Hardcore. Don't get me wrong, I usually tried to play as if I had only one life, but I could never handle the idea of losing all my hard work for a reason OUTSIDE my own stupidity.
