Thanks Mindy, and yes, huge break. These maps are recent too - Serdoa didn't have these when we traded 3 turns ago. The one risk we do have is somebody could feasibly give India copper or iron or something. That would be really unfortunate, and there's not much we can do about it if that happens. However, I do tend to think most players would prefer we win this fight since we're so far behind rather than Mansa of GLH India sitting there teching quietly. So let's hope that's enough for people not to help out India.

I'll be on tonight.
7 turns transit time from In-N-Out to NW of the desert hill by IW. So if the last galley finishes INO at t111 then we invade t118. Or 2t earlier and have a galley trailing 2t back. Still working out details, but i don't think the last galley should come later than t111

No idea if you've thought about this, but would it be at all worthwhile to offer LJS to Commodore for another 10 turns of peace when this one runs out? He'll declare you offer right away? I've no idea if it's feasible and/or if this will buy you more time but thought it could/should be considered.
The new map info would certainly seem fortuitous and is definitely exciting. Good luck guys!
Played in:
RBPB2 - Willem of Ottoman - 6th/10
RBPB3 - Joao of Inca 13th/17 or so???
PBEM6 - Shaka of the Vikings 2nd/5 (thanks Lewwyn)

I was thinking the same except... You can't trade somebody your capital.

Desperate time, desperate measures.
Maybe you could name one of your ships (Battlestar) Galactica?

Ha, love the idea Mindy!
Athlete, another problem is time is certainly working against us. I don't think we can delay- everybody has more cities and more long-term production. Our advantage is going to be in hitting as hard and fast as possible.

My thought process wasn't to delay the attack but to prolong the amount of time you keep cities and as such production/gold etc...It could have even allowed for more reinforcements, maybe? Anyways, I guess if you can't give up your capital it's a moot point.

Scooter, help me choose between these options for LJS.
Plan A (Unit & turn finished)
Cat-107, Axe-109, Cat-110, Cat-111, Impi-112
Plan B
Cat-106, Cat-108, Impi-109, Axe-110, Impi-111
Predicted timeline is Commodore invades on t112 and captures LJS on 113. So the last impi in plan A will be lost unless we have the first half of the turn split. (If we end up with the second half then perhaps an axe would be better- paired with an archer to slow Comm's advance.)
This brings up the question: what, if any, troops do we leave in LJS?

I prefer B I think. At this point, I only really care about units which will be used against India, and B gets 1 more than A in that case.
Also, if we don't have an Impi in LJS EoT111, there's nothing stopping Commodore from burning the city with chariots on T112. If there's an Impi there, though, he'll have to come in with 1-movers. Well, we could always leave an Impi behind from previous builds. But I still think B is better.
I'm fine with him walking into an empty LJS. If we can't get every unit onto a boat, then we leave anything behind that won't fit IMO. Agree/disagree?

I also favor B. Two cats should be plenty, and if you think 1 cat is enough then i may ne able to swap a cat for 2 bronze units. Not confident about that though...
Eot111 i think we leave as much as possible in LJS just to make him move up his cats and use an extra turn. So probably impi & archers (archers being the units left behind).
Once he takes LJS we can also try to offer INO for peace. INO will have been whipped useless by t113
I've also written up a pillage plan so we destroy improvements as soon as we don't need them and leave as little as possible for Commodore
