[SPOILERS] Lewger goes for the Bigwyn

Oh what do you mean? this is a perfect time! to attack! We can take the workers and if Azza wants to take the workers back he'll have to attack out of the city. And if he does that he'll have to delete the workers the workers himself. because we'll juts take them the next turn. Or we can put 2 HAs and 2 chariots (I think) on top of the workers and he can attack out with all 4 units thus losing their fortify bonus. Worth it. Especially since A) we want workers, and B) we want to lose a few military units.

Agree with lewwyn. Especially if it means he needs to attack out from the city. Do you know which direction the 2 axes went? Can they reach the hill?

they were there last turn, so they could only have gone 2 tiles on roads. so yeah they can reach the hill.

But Lewwyn's correct, any forces he sends to retake the workers can be slaughtered without cultural defense bonuses, and probably make the city fall that much easier.

ok we attacked. waiting for lewwyn to log out so I can take some pictures, but highlights:

1. azza -
we have 2 HA, 2 chariots on the hill. he has a prat and the 2 axes SW of the hill. they can reach city or attack hill, but not both. his 2 chariotss and 1 HA are no where to be seen.
2. odysseus moved SE and make contact with a pindicator galley. yay. scooter has alphabet, lewwyn gave him a copy of our maps for free and offered open borders. scooter only has 3 cities though,, so the trade routes will be minimal frown.

3. barb city appeared north of popol smile. not sure wheere exactly, but i think we'll be able to keep it. not until adfter currency though, heh.

4. with extra supply costs, we're making a whopping +8 gold at 0% science. oops.

on hill, we have 2 horse archers, 2 chariots (1 shock). SW of that azza has 1 praet, 2 axes (one shock), and a worker.
In the city he has 2 praets, 2 spears and a warrior. 1 spear is C1, rest unpromoted.

yeah, pretty sure the city falls and we keep the warriors next turn. then we'll decide if we want to raze presets before offering peace smile.

scooter/pindicator are just in pathetic shape frown. commodore will finish them off long before we can finish off azza, which is unfortunate. so we'll give them open borders, which will hopefully help both of us. once we have 2 sources of secure iron we'll give them one. I'd like to get a second furs up to donate to them. Do you think a health resource would be any help to them? we've got way more than we need.

here's the new barb city. as you can see its 2N of where I originally intended, but it will work - not worth razing. we'll leave alone until we have currency though.

even with our pathetic, war ravaged gnp, there are 5 teams worse than us. Scooter, merhoc, azza, for sure. Brick, I guess, but not sure on the 5th - maybe xenu, since he doesnt seem to have very many cities??

Why not push on for the capital?

LMAO

Lost all the HAs and chariots early but he didn't delete the workers. I figured take the city and we'll grab them with the chariot at the end.

The RNG Strikes...

Lose at 9% but half dmg the shock axe, good
We lost our Shock Axe on 63% odds. I was like fine, fine that was our second battle we got lots more.
Lose at 31%
Lose at 23%
Win at 75%
Win at 89%
Lose at 75% (that hurt)
Win at 88%
Lose at 41%
Lose at 40%
Lose at 36%
Win at 68%
Win at 100%
(Saw Azza's HA on our hill, attacked it with a spear) Lose at 75% banghead
Finished it off at 99%

So Azza has 3 units left in the city at .3, .2. and .1 healthbanghead
I could either take the workers with the chariot or kill a .3 health praet.
Chariot won at 99%

Basically all the early battles that he won he won without taking a lot of damage making the odd worse later on. I'm regretting the HA and chariot onto worker gambit. We got greedy and it probably lost us a few extra unit plus taking the city this turn.

We will take the city next turn, he has an HA that will get into the city + the warrior (that won a battle against an archer banghead) and the wounded (promo healed praet) We have 4 axes, 2 archers and 1 chariot.

We lost 13 units, Azza lost 7.
It was too greedy to go for the workers. Stupid Stupid. We should have simply deleted them.

I'm offering peace for Beowulf.
Pissed at myself.

(Its not that bad. It just could have been so much better.)

Okay, that's a good reason not to push on for the capital.

Arse.

In the end we lost 3 battles where we had odds, and didn't win any where the odds didn't favor us but it was a bit of a coinflip. We didn't get any luck.

Ancient War sucks. Once we have peace again, we build enough military (out of maths) to hold our territory and we try to tech hard.
