Eh, I'm fine with playing a human archer I suppose
![]() ------------ and by archer I mean, a Human Fighter with a Dex focus, that uses ranged weaponry (ie Bows/Longbows)
I never played D&D, mostly due to lack of people to play with. I'd be interested in trying here, but I'm not so sure how things would work and how much time it'd need. I already read the player rule book some time ago, when I tried to play it with my friends (which didn't go very well), so I'm familiar with the rules somewhat.

...wounding her only makes her more dangerous!
![]() It's More Fun to be Jack of All Trades than Master of One. ![]() --------- As far as the time commitment ... I guess we will just have to try it and find out ^_^ ------------- We could try something like (the next scene occurs when everyone has made a decision) and, I guess some people could go idle on the decision making (as long as at least one person is left making the decisions) until battle occurs. Also, if the decision maker wants to ask someone else, I guess he could wait until they post, but first he should notify the entire thread that he/orshe/or them is doing so. For instance, Azza is the decision maker because everyone else is idle. Then 4 other people show up (party of 6), so all but Tasunke are active. If they want to ask Tasunke something, then they state they are waiting on Tasunke, and then once Tasunke shows up he answers the questions, and either stays or runs away again, and the party acts from there. So it'll probably be a fair amount of lone-wolfing/ skeleton-crewing except for when battles arrive and then things slow down ^_^ Perhaps the DM should say something like ARRIVING IN THE TOWN STORE AT 22:00 GMT Saturday. So people know when to show up and buy stuff ![]()
I'd potentially be interested, but would likely be annoying with regards to organising 'everyone be around' times like fights.
-- Don’t forget.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. -- As long as you remember her, you are not alone.
Yes, which is why fights will probably work in a 'stop-time animation' type way. Each round of combat will not pass until each person has posted, so I could see a particularly large battle lasting perhaps a week without any blitzing.
Of course, if we all WERE on forum at the same time, we could use Tinychat to speed things up ![]() (I don't think such restrictions are necessary at quick-time events like Shops, Railroads, Nightfall, or other RP events, however Combats are too important to solo. I think we can rush through the non-combat portions (if at least one person is in communication with the DM) just so that the game doesn't last literally forever. The hope is that we can at least schedule/ let people know "when" certain things will happen, so that we have a slightly greater chance of getting more party members online)
To be fair we will try to make XP gain as even as possible. Instead of having the game go on temporary pause each time someone levels up, a person can just pick all their levels at the beginning of the next combat phase (so, if they gained 2 levels during travels they were AFK, they can still take part in the battle). I suppose, in this way, we could also follow through with battles as long as we have at least 3-4 players online ... however if we have a party of maybe 10 or so, ALL will get the victory exp. That way, basically, we can maximize the speed with which we pursue the main campaign.
