None of the subtypes I can find have Swift as Shadows. Consider me a sad puppy.

(also, I'm gonna guess that we aren't using the optional 'hero' rules or w/e? I think its like the occasional free re-roll, but meh. Just saying cause its in a human subtype btw
does that mean, if we aren't using the hero rules, I can take the subtype but without replacing the bonus feat with Heroic?)

imho, I don't wanna Shadow character unless I can have a reasonable chance at sniping people ... was almost thinking Ranger/Fighter, or full Ninja, or Ninja/Figher -> Shadow Assassin ... or something along those lines.
But, without that trait, Im thinking something more like pure Archer, or Archer/Wizard -> Arcane Archer (but maybe have Magus or Sorceror instead of Wizard)

I like the backstories posted so far, I really do...but I'm not sure I understand why these loners have decided to work together. And especially not why they're working together in something as risky and dependent on trust as adventuring. Could you elaborate on that a bit? Even if it's just 'Brick's character and mine have been drinking in the local pub for the last 3 months and have become good friends'. I think you guys need ties to each other.
I had picked up the impression we were running with this:
(February 1st, 2013, 20:30)Lewwyn Wrote: I also just had a thought. What if our adventuring party is a start up mercenary guild. As part of the backstory and reliable unit cohesion. The group is formed by answering flyers and recruiting posters for the Mercenary guild Realms Beyond. There's a shadowy guildmaster and we've all been recruited. From there the guild can recruit new members whenever someone dies, or if someone wants to join the game at any time they join the guild. Or they can leave at anytime and have their character go off on another mission to return whenever convienent. Basically keeping a stable of characters for all the players here on Realms Beyond. This also gives us an opportunity to have further missions beyond this first one and if we end up with a lot of people could be split on different missions.
And so was thinking of someone who is now looking for a group (and why) without needing to know why these very specific people. But I confess to skimming a lot when it gets into the nitty gritty details of feats & items I don't know about so I may well've missed stuff

My character could have met Pling's character in the caravan that she was protecting when they were heading to the town where the adventure starts or something.
Can you point out to some information about the world where we'll adventure, mardoc? I need some source material before I can decide which city, lord and wars my character participated in.

My main motivation will be towards righting wrongs and bringing freedom and festivity to people. So.... how to cross that with mercenary...
AH! I know, I'm working to save up money to repay some people. That'll work.

Given that the lore dump (curtesy me ) is in progress, and it consist of a bit of suggestions as of why people might be there, i'd say wait out a bit before clamping down on a motivation

Probably more than you want: http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page
Sian's summary is much more manageable, assuming it's not changed too much from the draft he sent me.
I'd suggest looking at Cormyr and the Dalelands as likely homes for your character.

Also - if you guys are excited by the Mercenary Guild idea, I'll see what I can come up with as a description of it. It's probably sponsored by the King, and is more a clearinghouse for things that people are willing to pay to have done, than an independent player in politics.
I'd still appreciate some ties between party members, but I suppose it wouldn't have to be quite as tight.

Hello everyone. I heard from Tasunke about this game, and I was hoping you guys have a spot for me to join in.
I have never played DnD (i don't think the online DnD game counts), but I was really hoping that I could atleast try this.
I would really appreciate it you you could find a spot for me to play ;-)

We'd be glad to have you reading along, but I think we're full with the 7 players we have right now.

Tasunke said something about possibly having enough people for another game.
As a side note, could you point me towards somewhere that could explain how this whole forum setup works?
Perhaps some guide you guys made for 1st time u did this
