Cool, now all I have to worry about is dates. I've been going off http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com, which seems to imply that it's around 1479DR, maybe a couple of years later, while Sian's dump says 1359DR was only 12 years ago (making it 1371DR). Given the campaign for Myth Drannor wasn't successful 'til 1374DR, this could cause some issues with using it as an origin...

I suppose I could just run with being a random elf from that general area. It's still a fairly giant forest, just rather more evil-thing infested before they (mostly) got killed off. Also similarly likely to have a parent die in combat bequeathing me some shiny (+1) armour.

The mental image of 20 years of infancy is just too amusing to lose for the sake of what's canon lol wink
I can pretend to still be a big baby for you if that'll help tongue

I suppose I could see myself taking either goblin or dwarven, assuming I get to take a language with my as yet undecided build.

Need an int mod (or skill ranks in linguist) to get bonus languages, as I understand it. It's one extra language per mod xor linguist rank, yeah?

or linguist rank?

You can get an extra language for each rank in linguistics? >_>

I was already thinking of linguistics as a possible skill, so that's freakin awesome (but I suspect its not 1 per rank ... hmm)

Whenever you put a rank into this skill, you learn to speak and read a new language

Thats because in 4e FR was pushed forwards ~100 years from where the Canon lore was at the end of 3.5e which were 1372 when 3'd came out and ~1577 at the tail end ... so depending on Mardoc the starting point could be somewhere between those (at least if he want most lore support from me, since i put fingers in my ears and sing whenever someone mention 4e FR)

When do we plan to start this? I think I'll need at least until the end of this week to familiarize myself with the lore and finish my character. Hopefully this is not delaying things too much.

Oh, dear. I had assumed they pretty much kept things constant. Well, the reference I have and was planning to use most is the 3e Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting. So let's stick with the date that's set in. Don't have it in front of me, but from what you say Sian that sounds like 1372. My apologies, Mattimeo.

When we're ready. End of the week seems reasonable given our rate of progress. It'll take a while for me to come up with hooks for the first adventure possibilities regardless, so I wouldn't want to start before the end of the week.

Ah...when people are mostly done with characters, please send me your character sheet, or post it here. And again when you've finalized. I'd like to do a quick check of them before we start. And when we're going, I'll need to have them on hand anyway for things like rolling your Perception checks.

Has anyone Taken Draconic as a language yet?

@Rogue, have you looked into the 'Trap Spotter' rogue talent? I hear it allows you to auto-look for traps without actually having to specify that you are looking for traps.

I think it requires a high wisdom/perception score or something. Worth looking into at least.
