On a side note, we've already made our moves...so happy to run out the clock. Let's talk about this *move* by Scooter. First off, let me say that this IS my opinion and doesn't reflect on Nakor at all. There are two components.
#1 - Game play - I have to commend Scooter. Brilliant move. I don't think anyone would suspect it although I did make a fatal mistake (map trade). But then again, why not offer a map trade when you are at someones borders? Your opponent could make a mistake (which I did) and it is a last gasp measure anyway. Who knows what could happen. So I definitely appreciate this move from a gameplay perspective.
#2 - Personal - dick move. No chance of winning and you sabotage someone else's game? I understand not giving up...you don't play Deity if you give up easily (when the odds are stacked against you from T0). What I don't understand though, is why you don't try to take back your own cities? I am guessing crossbows maybe (otherwise wouldn't make sense).
Anyway, although I am personally pissed, I am fine with the gameplay...I won't soon forget this lesson. It just sucks because Nakor invited me to play with him...and I let him down.
@ Scooter (my thoughts for when you read this thread if you do) - you bought some time...you won't succeed...we'll have catapults soon and then you're screwed.

CFCJesterFool, for the benefit of us confused lurkers: Could you please explain your reluctance to press end turn, given that you appear to be saying that you have made all your moves (including any whips, etc), and thus have nothing to gain from waiting?

It is out of my hands...sorry. Also, Commodore has paused the game. Can't end turn even if I wanted too. Please, any lurker, define sequential turns...it really does matter. I'll explain my reasoning if I get an attempt at answering the question.

Sequential turns is when for each player there's one and only one player who plays next, unless the player is the last one to play.

Notably, sequential turns Pitboss games are enforced by a game setting in the software, where it is physically impossible for players to play out of sequence. AS I understand it, this Pitboss is simultaneous, albeit with player-enforced rules to manage potentially contentious simultaneous moves - AKA double moving.

Are there any double move rules defined for this game? If not, I see no reason to ask CFCJester to do something he doesn't want to. Just explain it and let him decide.
I do think, free for all will benefit attacker....

No such thing but these forums are still reeling in agony from Lord Parkin's PB7 shenanigans such you damn well don't want to drag our conventions into the mud.
Also, sequential turns pitboss is essentially what PBEMs are. Naturally, no one really uses code-enforced seq turn pitboss because doing so nullifies the main advantage of pitboss: being able to drop in and out of the game as you like so you can have more than half a dozen players per game.

Sequential turns is easy bro...all turns process at end of turn (which is actually quite fair). Doesn't matter who goes first..the turns are processed simultaneously. Guess what, whoever ends turn last has the advantage since they can react to what the other player has done. In this case it doesn't matter much (we're whipping regardless). However, why would I give up an advantage...stupid...I beat Deity because I know the game rules. I did agree to end turn once Commodore unpauses thanks to Krill (this guy stands for fairness ) since the house rules say I have to play first. I THINK THE HOUSE RULES SUCK AND NEED TO BE CHANGED WITH THE UNDERSTANDING OF HOW THE GAME ACTUALLY WORKS. Won't be this game obviously but really, update the rules. I mean seriously, you have to PM someone to say you're going to attack (to enforce turn order rules)...utter nonsense...sorry.

What a time to go to bed...
Things would have been easier if Scooter/Pindicator had send us a PM telling us that they're going to declare war and claim second half.
Now we didn't know for sure and them declaring war would have meant build/tech scenario 1, while them not declaring would mean scenario 2. I don't see what is wrong with waiting for that decision to become clear.
Now, time to take a look ingame since CivStats suggest we didn't loose a city...
