However, to actually switch, you'd need to get rid of the weapon you were initially holding. I *think* that also requires a move action to stow, but I'm not sure. You could always just drop it completely (a free action, I believe) or throw it as part of an attack (standard action), I suppose.

Also, I vote you run with the spec that doesn't involve me shanking your mount when it looks at me funny tongue

That makes sense.

For instance, if I had a short sword equipped, but wanted to draw my Bow, I could either spend a move action on putting it away properly and then spend a move action on drawing my bow, *or* I could just drop the sword (free action) and draw my bow (move) and make one attack ^_^

Edit: it appears if you have at least BAB+1 (most of us I think) you can draw a weapon as a free action 'as part of movement'.

You should cave to the next reinterpretation of the rules in his favour that he suggests.*

*This is not a serious suggestion. Please, for the love of whatever you consider holy, do not do this.

lol tbh though, I don't think I've been asking for that many reinterpretations ... just rule clarifications (particularly, ranged based disarms confused me, as they seemed to be under a set of 'quasi rules' specific to that class. Hence the reason why I discarded trick shots for armor proficiency as Mardoc suggested.

DM question. Intelligence bonus and constitution bonus has an impact on several permanent factors (HP and Skill points). If one of these bonuses is increased permanently (at, say, one of the 4th levels), do these points get attributed retroactively?

aka: 4 hit points, or 4 skill points. (or, if at 8th level, 8 hp points, or 8 skill points)

Its too bad only followers of Zon Kuthon can get Bloodletting as a feat frown

hmm ... lets see ... its a bit confusing trying to read through (get the distinct feeling they interchange words or i'm missing some parts) ... it gives Skill Points if whats doing it is there for more than 24 hours, but it should be noted seperately in case its removed again ...

Hit points are added retroactively - it's always based on the current bonus. This means also that if you take Constitution damage, you lose hp along with it.

Skill points are not. You only get the extra skills going forward.
Edit: Sian pointed out to me this is actually a 3.5 -> Pathfinder change, and you do get retroactive skill points.

I'm working up the next actual gameplay post, now that it appears characters are either built or almost built. It'll be some sort of introduction to the guild and assumed coming together as a party, followed by a search for quests. I have more than three options for you (haven't decided if some should be combined or not yet). Once I get that posted, I'd like you guys to pick a quest and then I'll develop that one further.

Lurker beg: Can the gameplay be in a brand-new thread that's for gameplay only? It would feel weird to have a game start around post 400, and this thread can still be used for spectating, mechanics, and whatnot.

Sounds logical to me. We'll keep this thread alive for anything out of character, and I'll make a new one for in-character actions only. If I can find them, I'll copy over the backstory posts, or else you guys can do that for me mischief while I work on the first real gameplay post.

So far, we won't need rolls, just roles. Deadline for having your characters done: as soon as you pick a fight tongue

Collectively we appear to have a fondness for M* names lol

Were you reserving more posts in the gameplay thread, Mardoc? I've got a copy in a text file of what I finally ended up with for an intro post, so I can easily post it again in the right thread smile

No, I think I'm done for the moment. Should be able to edit other stuff in later if need be.
