Agree especially as you should not hang someone based on his voting record. The time of his voting and his reasons are the scum-tells

I just don't think that it's an issue to have the current votes tallied up and displayed at certain key times, which is the same as most game GMs do already.

Correct. I used to put out a tally quite often and never heard a complain neither from the wolves nor from the villagers.
The one who would really profit from such a tool would be the GM who would save lots of time (which could then be spent on writing nteresting stories )

Something like this already exists Its a mod in SC2. It has power roles, night chat, day chat. Most of all of this. Sadly its dying out.

I've actually wondered if a werewolf-style detective game with AIs would be a feasible project (realistic AI forum posts might be asking too much though.)

That sounds like fun! I won't be playing cause unless this one finishes tomorrow, the next game will probably coincide with baby time and I'm not going to cross those. So I'm available if you want me to look over your setup and give you any feedback on it.
