Going to rule that you may have one bow easily accessible, that follows normal 'draw' rules. And that it's considered strung at all times with no consequences.

You may carry more bows, unstrung/in your pack. It'll take you two full rounds to get it out and strung.

One quiver accessible, may have as many more in your pack as your weight limits allow.

As for horses - tethering them will work for a short/middling period, say 12 hours or so. After that, when they've eaten everything in range, they'll try to get untethered. Probably won't go far unless they're threatened by something, though.

As for rogues and horses - at the moment I think Mattimeo is kidding. Push him too far, though, and he might not be kidding anymore wink.

I'm trying to find conversion ratios for Gold, Silver, and Copper pieces.

Is it all 100:1?

Edit: looks like its all 10:1 ... (copper -> silver -> gold -> platinum)

----------------

Switching from 1 bow to 1 melee weapon takes a full round action (2 move actions) unless bow is dropped, then just 1 move action. Does the same apply for 1 bow -> 1 sword AND shield?

10c = 1s
10s = 1g
100g = 1p
I believe.

also: probably should have mentioned before, but a wagon is much appreciated, BRick
*Mariel proceeds to dump most of her gear in said wagon

So, right, the mule I bought for Mara, right, it's useful, right? Coz mules can carry stuff and go in dungeons (or so the rules said) where carts can't go. And it wasn't an exercise in using up money on fairly back story appropriate stuff that I could see a use for shakehead wink

(No tether, is that a seperate thing I need to buy? I don't remember seeing them listed. But if so, must rectify. I bet there's places where she'll have to leave the mule behind.)

Things that facilitate the extraction of treasure from its natural environment to places where it can be exchanged into more useful items are generally appreciated, yes smile

I think you mean, 500+lbs worth of meals if we get in a pinch wink

* Mattimeo should probably determine the proper elven attitude towards the personal consumption of meat before suggesting such a course of action

Ah but:

Quote:Unlike a horse, a donkey or mule is willing (though not eager) to enter dungeons and other strange or threatening places.

Which sounds a bit like it might need the occasional bit of spiky non-crippling encouragement, but otherwise should do the loot carrying thing fine.

Unlike the horse wink

(And Mattimeo - if you're chaotic neutral, does it matter what a more lawful elf might think if you eat meat? Unless of course elves can't digest meat in which case, please don't! wink )

General Question/DM Question: Knotted Rope.

I want to buy some/bring some/ have some ... but I don't see where I can buy some.

Is there some skill check involved to make a rope knotted? But then ... you'd think there would be a price attached to it, if someone else did the knotting for you.

And anyways, to make the rope effective in Adventure situtations, wouldn't I need to add some type of grappling hook at the end of the rope? Seems like such a rope would be called 'climbing rope' ... but would certainly be cheaper than the 3000 gp rope of climbing magical item.

Anyone care to help me out here?
