[SPOILERS] scooter, pindicator, and Huayna Capac try some fast Zulu cuisine

And thanks, all. I'm still undecided on how to name the GG. You could make a case for Regoarrarr (he hedged which is DQ-worthy but he was technically closest I guess), Bacchus (closest in hammers), Krill (correctly spelled out the logic, which quite possible influenced a lot of the cat + 1 unit guesses), and Fintourist (predicted only cats would die). And I'm probably missing someone. Maybe we can come up with some insane amalgamation of all of your names.

scooter i was wondering how long it would take for you to chat me about some minor nitpick :P
i can't believe it took you over 20 minutes
Noble: well i didn't get a chance to read it until now :P
scooter well that eases my mind
if that's the worst thing you can find in the turn, that makes me feel pretty good
Noble: well i only read up to that part :P
scooter oh alright then, bracing myself for more

(this is pretty typical)

I have literally hundreds of similar chat logs. Hundreds.

I think you should name the GG after me, since I have literally HUNDREDS of similar chat logs. nod
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Can i put a frowny face for the galley moves? I'm not sure which way is best so this may still work. But i was going to say we chain the last two galleys to load; that way we have 6 units in a wave and 2 more a tile behind. This way will get our axes and galleys around the north coast faster so maybe its a better move longer term.

I think I need to lookt it closer tonight

And AWESOME results. If we can blitz Crabs and then cut off his horses then India is done

I've been thinking 4 axes will probably be enough to take CC (that's the second city up around the north), though I'm just sort of guesstimating. He hasn't even sniffed IW with units from up there, which makes me think he doesn't have much. This galley move gets us get there a full turn earlier, which may be the difference between, say, 2 archers and 3 archers on defense. If it's not enough, oh well, we just wait for more to show up. But I think this will work out ok. We can figure it out for sure tonight.

Yep. I think at this point Crabs is a lock to fall. Bigger question is what we can do about horse city. The awesome part is both of those axes survived, so we'll now have 2 CR2 axes. thumbsup

Just to be sure, we're working max hammers (plus crab) at WC, right?

So, we have a mystery to solve. India gained exactly 1 point at turn roll. That's... a really weird number. A single pop point is 2, so... I can only think of two possibilities. Let me know what you guys think:

1) He picked up the land point from an island city settled 20T ago. I guess this could be it? Seems most likely bet.
2) He lost land points due to culture reset at turn roll, but it was offset by pop growth.

#2 seems plausible since I find it hard to believe he experienced 0 pop growth with all the whipping he's doing. However, would Civstats really record it that way? Would Civstats see -5 land points and +6 pop points and just record it as a +1? I have no idea. Also, I don't see any culture tiles that would have changed at EoT anyways, so I just assumed he already lost his land points during the attack.

Any ideas?

Don't remember, actually. I think & hope so? Turn already rolled a couple hours ago so it's not like it matters now. Speaking of, CFCJester at least logged in and did some whipping. He logged out without ending turn, which is fine, but it's at least good news to see them starting the turn earlier this time. Hoping we can get an evening roll instead of a morning roll this time around, just for convenience sake.

So I popped into the game to take a look at the state of things. We can't move any units yet because India has yet to move, but I took a look at what completed in Crabs Galore and, er,

Apparently nothing? I'm really confused here. So we're only facing 1 archer and 1 warrior. Geez, are we really going to capture the entire west coast at 2-3 casualties max? Incredible.

So as far as I can tell from reviewing my pop tracking screenshots, they just did not whip Crabs Galore last turn. This is really weird, because at minimum you can 2-pop whip an archer from scratch, which they just flat-out chose not to do. The only way this makes sense is if something was already going to complete, but... that apparently did not happen either. I didn't check for buildings, but why on earth would they let a building complete in a city we're just going to take.

So they either just FORGOT to whip (unlikely, they whipped 3 times), or something did complete and it ran away out of sight. Uh, maybe they built a boat and they moved it into the fog when CFCJester first logged in? That's seriously all I can figure. That would also be a really bizarre decision. Maybe they ran wealth trying to finish a tech? That seems like the most plausible decision.

Any thoughts?

Maybe it's just smoke?

That's possible. It's just, the only kind of smoke that would explain lack of a unit completing is just outright forgetting to whip, and that seems hard to believe since they whipped other cities.
