Intersite Game - Turn Discussion Thread

We have a new turn up. The main news for the turn was a free spread of Hinduism into The Covenant (right before our missionary was going to spread it there), and a free spread of religion into Seven Tribes. Not our religion though: Confucianism. Interesting. Our own missionary will now have about 90% odds to spread Hinduism, upon which our Hanging Gardens plan are hinging. That would be really funny/tragic if we lost the wonder due to a failure of our missionary to spread religion after a completely random Confucian appearance.

I am going to play around with the sandbox tomorrow and will get to finalizing the turn after I'm more satisfied with upcoming micro.

if we had a missionary about to spread into the covenant which is no longer needed, can't we send him to 7 tribes? if he fails we can still send the original missionary slotted for 7 tribes as well. with 2 90% chances we would have to have really bad luck indeed to not to get hinduism there.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

You should look at some screenshots - The Covenant is literally on the opposite side of our empire from Seven Tribes. smile

well the micro is a little above my pay grade so I haven't been paying much attention to the details, hehe. How soon will we know if the planned missionary will fail/succeed? is it too far/time critical to send the planned covenant missionary high-tailing it to 7 tribes now?

From Sullla's report last turn:

Quote:The missionary from Horse Feathers is on the way to Seven Tribes and will spread our religion there on T103.

It is currently turn 102.

Bad timing on that spread, but overall, the more religions we have, the better. When we start cottage paving AO, we can put a monastery in for each religion for an additional 10% research rate. Good news on that spread. We'll need to grab Meditation on the way to Philosophy anyway. I would love to trade a missionary at some point with CFC and another with the Germans, if they are interested. We already have our shrine up, so it's a win/win from our perspective.

which is why the others might not be all that interested in such a trade without some other reason such as a bit of cash or a favorable resource trade

They would still benefit from the additional 10% research in their city. Indira has 9 riverside tiles that will be cottaged, including 4 FPs and 2 grasslands that are almost certainly already in use, plus an academy. They would benefit from the trade. Perhaps not more than us, but more than if they did not go for it, and this is not a two team game. Relative to the other civs, they would benefit to make the deal.

I made the comment about the Germans based on where Buddhism was founded in the sandbox. Did they actually found the religion? I'm less certain they would benefit from a swap enough to even consider it.

as for missionaries ... i suggest sending the one built at Forbidden fruit to the tile NW of Focal Point ... if spreading to Seven Tribes fail it can continue moving towards that, if its a success it can move to Starfall (not losing any turns at the end of the day as of how fast it could get there directly)
