t13 - Western Scout finds Rice near the Gold. Northern Scout spots a hut just outside Charlie's territory - should be able to get it next turn. Northern Warrior finds a small inlet on the Sea. Tweak the tile usage to get the Scout to coincide with growth.

t14 - This turn's news comes from the North; Scout pops hut on m_h's borders for 55g ... and finishes next to a Bear. Probably around a 50/50 whether he survives.

Pig Pasture is finished, and Istanbul is configured for maximum hammer overflow into the next build (Worker or Settler). Drop research to 20% to discover Pottery next turn.

Another thought about the map; I've found Tundra to the North of m_h's capital which opens the option that he's near the top and that rather than being arranged in a circle around a central lake, the five civs are actually arranged in an "M" or "W" pattern along the map.

If I remember correctly, on Price you're guaranteed to win the first combat against barb animals regardless of the odds. That doesn't make it any less cool though. smile

Sullla's right, but in the guarantee-win scenario, your unit survives with damage one hit shy of being killed. If the unit survived at 0.8/1, it won fair and square.

Bear Slayer wakes from his healing turn to see the first Bear's twin Brother waiting on the same tile ... despite the promo flipping the odds into his favour, ~2/3 is not great odds so discretion in the better part of valour and he retreats away to the East.

Things are coming together in the centre; Wheat is now visible, andI should have the whole area de-fogged on t18 - so expect a dotmap to appear over the weekend. smile

t17 - big news this turn: I spot Saladin's pastel green borders under the fog in the West. Looks like he's about equidistant from Banana Lake as I am ... we'll meet him next turn.
