Speaking as ostensibly the quietest present:
Nah, I'm good resting here for lunch, unless our vaunted escortee deems it worthy of his attention. Feel free to traipse off on a wild goose eagle chase yourself, though. You've got a horse, you'll be able to catch up with us when we head off.

Always, somewhere,
someone is fighting for you.

you are not alone.

Quite a big mouth for someone that deems to be so quiet...
You can keep yourself to your tree talking and leaf eating, I'm going to check it out.
*@Mardoc: taking the horse with me, not mounted though*
I dismount and follow Menas. I leave my horse with Gunther, that he may take my horse with the party if we don't return in time. "Gunther, will you look after guiniviere while I am gone? If need be, a simple lead line will allow you to travel with both animals if need be. Just use the silk rope in my saddlebags :shows him where it is: but I shouldn't be gone long."
With that menas and bradwyn enter the forest. Bradwyn readies his longbow and falchion, and has neither equipped.
Bradwynn asks menas to fall in behind him, while he scouts ahead trying to move silently and figure out the locus of the eagle's movements.
As Menas and Bradwyn leave the party (and the road) and walk toward the Eagle, they try to be quiet and observant. I want a Stealth and a Perception check from each of you. I will roll the Perception check, so please just give me your total bonus for this one.
Note: This is going to be a general policy of mine on Perception rolls, and anything else where it's not obvious if success/failure is your fault or some other cause, like Bluff, Appraise, etc. If you roll a 1 and don't see anything, that's very different than if you roll a 20 and don't see anything. I'd rather avoid metagaming.
Stealth you can roll yourself because it'll be fairly obvious whether you're making noise or not.
"Kilthan is already short enough. Besides, Thoven, watch for danger, don't chatter like cityfolk."
Lewwyn, you can never take 20 on a Knowledge check, but you may roll. To quote the rules: "The check represents what you know, and thinking about a topic a second time doesn’t let you know something that you never learned in the first place."
<just imagine this first bit goes in before we started rolling dice>
"I'll join you Menas, up front with Bradwyn perhaps as I'm lighter on my feet than you. If I tie my horse up here to a tree, if someone would be so kind as to lead her on if you should need to move before we come back for some unknown reason that would be good."
<yeah, she's got a horse, she borrowed one and left the mule behind>
@Mardoc:
Perception is 6 (3 from ranks, 3 for class skill).
Stealth is also 6 (2 from dex, 1 from ranks, 3 from class skill). Rolled: 12.
I don't understand where Tasunke is getting the Luck stuff from, so I don't know if I need to tell you about that or where I get the info from if so. For that matter, I dunno if there's something else I need to add to either of those, given it's a rules thing and I'm a noob, I'm hoping that I'll get informed if I've done it wrong
