Our NAP with TEAM expires on T140, and with Gillette on T145. Isn't it better to keep our cool for now? Even if we want to militarize, popping a golden age and building forges isn't a bad way to go about it. The main decision point is whether or not to whip a bunch of universities, or instead finish the forges, adopt theocracy, and spit out some units (drafted maces + cats and horse archers).
If you know what I mean.

In a contingency, our next tech after liberalism -> nationalism could also be gunpowder, for drafted muskets. It's only 70% more expensive than machinery, and we will have access to it via education. We could even get gunpowder before liberalism if it gets really hot under our feet.

How many turns would we need if someone declares on us? 2 Turns of drafts? 3?

I probably overreacted. Let's see things develop a bit further before distracting our Liberalism plan. We can 1 turn HBR, if it seems nescessary.
If NAP's hold, we'll do alright. Not sure what happens if they don't.

If you think another worker is excessive, BM could just do a turn of wealth and then start its forge. Or start a barracks.

Sandbox T123: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/49396026/rb/tro...dSwordSave
We are able to 1-turn MC before even starting the GA, so no worries there.
Reminders for T123:
- Spread religion to HN
- Bulb philo
- Start the golden age
- Revolt to Bureacracy/Caste/Pacifism
- Convert to Hinduism (easy to forget!)
- Configure cities according to the GP plan

I took another look at the GP plans.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?...SFE#gid=19
I've highlighted Plako's plan in green, for easy reference. One problem with that plan is that we have no guaranteed scientist until EOT129, which is a bit late to bulb education.
What do you guys think about my alternative plan, highlighted in orange below it? We then get a guaranteed scientist EOT127, for education. So if our earlier GP at EOT124 is a scientist, we can go ahead and settle him. We also get a very likely scientist EOT130 from OTR, and a scientist/engineer EOT132 from WIFOM, in time to rush Taj if it flips that way. The final mixed odds GP from HN is a bit delayed, but I don't think that matters so much. We might want to save one GP anyway, to help trigger our next golden age. And it should still be at a good time to bulb into PP if it flips that way.
Note that despite working more specialists, OTR works almost as many tiles in my plan as in Plako's plan, because it grows to 11 on the first turn of the GA (and then eventually starves back to 10). HN works fewer specialists early on in my plan, giving it time to either grow to 11 or work on its market. It can then whip the market to completion on the first turn of slavery, and work 4 specialists after that. WIFOM also has fewer specialist turns in my plan than in Plako's plan, despite taking one turn longer to pop its GP.

Also, we may well end up delaying the slavery/OR switch until T134, due to liberalism being late. In that case, we will also pop the 800 GP from HN EOT134 in my plan.
So in Plako's plan, the GPs come at EOT 124, 128, 129, 131, 132 and in my plan it's at EOT 124, 127, 130, 132, 134/135. I'm arguing that my plan is better because it guarantees an education bulb and also lets us settle the first GP right away instead of potentially saving it for education.

I think we should still with zak's plan. Nationalism and extended time in a golden age should give us plenty of time to get what we need to defend...or attack .

yeah. Zak's plan is good. I also like the fact we get GP out from capital 1st. OTR is delayed a bit, but getting capital to work Bureau boosted tiles is more important as well as better timing of things.
