That depends on how much we are up against, of course. We should obviously watch the power of our neighbors. TEAM are still garrisoning their border cities with warriors, though. We literally have one unit per city (and that is counting an exploring chariot), and we are still #2 in power, behind Gillette.

Ok, looks like we've slipped to #3 in power, but we are not far behind. Let's not let facts get in the way of a good pep talk.

I've just had a look: Menagerie are the current #2. TEAM are still lower power than us, and are around about on a par with us in terms of power that comes from units..

We'll get Paper in 2T at 0% Science. We could bulb and finish Edu on T126, if we get Scientist from HN.

We need 6 Universities. Caipirinha could build Forge-Uni (chop the forest). Others probably straight to uni. I suggest without any sims BM, Bitter, Ramune, EB and WR(spare chop to Uni). EB and WR have forests to chop. OR comes too late help us much to build the Universities

We could also settle couple of filler cities (near TEAM borders, E from Caipirinnha and fish in the south). Not quite sure if we can manage a settler builds anywhere.

We could also settle a scientist from HN, get archery and monotheism on T126 and T127, and bulb+finish education on T128.

I think it should be possible to do forges before universities. With a forge and OR, universities are just 20 hammers plus a 4-whip. And it's easier to change course if needed, if we go with forges first.

I start to warm up on Forge alternative, mainly because we probably can't finish all the needed Universities before we're back on slavery. Do you've a feeling, if we've enough gold to support T130 Liberalism, if we turn our wealth building cities to Forges now?

edit. we need also missionaries. so after the current Spear and monstery builds we need to focus Ramune and Bitter to build those.

I think it may delay liberalism if we switch off wealth, but I still think we should do it. I think we should build forges pretty much everywhere.

We can reevaluate in a few turns, when it's easier to see if a few wealth builds could tip the scales or not. With liberalism one turn later, we lose one turn of natural production into Taj, but if we really want to we can make that back by also chopping the deer.

We could also research iron working after liberalism and pray for iron in Deerslayer's hills. smile

I agree with keeping Ramune and Bitter on missionary duty. I don't think we're in a huge rush to settle the filler cities. They can wait another 10-15 turns IMO.
