You're probably right in terms of avoiding music: I just realized that with all the wealth builds I vastly overestimated our tech rate. That also is significant for expanding as well I guess.

"superheroes are really an American thing. In Norway, comics mean Donald Duck.

While I agree on the "are" id say one could definitely say "comics means" as opposed to "comics mean" -you're sayingthat when one thinks of comics one thinks Donald Duck.

And yes I miss WW. frown

novice was unsure of the subject verb agreement. In this case the noun is plural (comics) so the verb should be third person plural, which is "mean," not "means." (he means, they mean)
Novice, there aren't any universal rules in English, but generally if the noun is singular the verb will have an S, if the noun is plural the verb will not have an S. Of course they are always exceptions to any grammar rule in English lol

If he had written " 'comics' means Donald Duck," that would have been correct also (note the quotation marks around "comics") - as if saying "the word 'comics' means/brings to mind Donald Duck."

Sooo ... about Civ ...

eh, I think comics is plural. the singular form is "comic." If you are saying "comics" can be singular or plural (like "deer") then you are correct - not sure if that is the case though???. I don't think it matters if the object (Donald duck, or Donald duck and lucky luke) is plural here, its the subject that matters.
