What do Khazad in your opinion then need to be less gimped in MP? ... lower needs in the vault? or?

I'm no modder, but I think that their current boosts only balance their lack of access to the arcane and recon lines (due to lack of rangers and mages). I think their vaults are intended to be self balancing, but I think the nwrf is to big and the boost to hard to acquire.
If I was balancing them id knock off the bottom tier of costs (make it -1 happy, and take each cost down a level for the vault.)

... what is that thing SESE of the settler? ... metamagic node? ... anyhows ... sip or 1e looks best without getting into it

bit low on forests ... agritaiaism might be worthwhile for a short stint

Calender would be useful as well early on due to Cotton and Silk

Calender -> Hunting -> Ancient Chants -> Mystitism -> FoL -> Crafting -> Education ???

An unimproved metamagic node.

Spi is awesome for the free mobility on priests and disciples. Sure, it's slightly less useful for elves, since they're usually using those priests to summon tigerpults, rather than more direct collateral, but it's still useful for its default benefits. And spending some time in Empy / Free Trade rather than FoL/GoN can be quite useful on occasion.

Agreed on SPI. You're going to want a lot of Priests of Leaves anyway, and the SPI boost will help.

You're not actually locked in to Fellowship of Leaves for the majority of the game, you will just want to spend a lot of time in it for the forestry benefits and eventually you'll want GoN. SPI is helpful because it lets you use FoL but still sample other religions and spend 5 turns building priests or other goodies.

Spi is great for Arendel, even if you don't swap religions. Priests of Leaves are fantastic units: in peacetime they can terraform your empire (boosting your economy in a way that no other type of priest will). In times of war, they're not as effective as Veil priests (or, situationally, cultists) in small numbers. But if you were going to fight a war with nothing but a huge stack of priests, PoL are probably the best. Arendel's spiritual trait means that you can peacefully build and still field an effective, experienced army in the mid-game.
