Maybe explore with a war chariot+scout pair. Move the scout first, then follow with the war chariot.

(Kind of silly, I know.)
If you know what I mean.

I agree that's silly. If we're talking about sending an axe, why not send a chariot and only move 1 tile each turn. If he uncovers a spear he can escape. If an axe should appear, we get XP. And once the char gets sentry, it'll be an even better scout, as well as a longterm resource.

The problem with that logic though is that you can extend that to bringing swords and spears as well, in which case it becomes a stack.

Sentry is available at 5xp, right? Flanking I, then it's available IIRC.

Why kill the barb at all if it won't come in borders? (No wait, don't answer that, I'm still smarting from the loss of our worker too). I'm assuming it would be our 10xp HE unit that would kill the spear at 99.7%. Are other units in position to get the kill? 10xp is the limit for barb exp so this unit wouldn't benefit the attacking unit at all.

Just for clarification, and so I don't have to go digging around, we did take the promotion on our HE unit already, right? Looks like combat 2 + shock (10/17exp) from Sullla's turn report, so yes. NM that.

Capital WC: explore the south. Fingers still crossed for marble/silver/furs. It's worth the risk of a low cost unit, and as others have said, xp is available out there to harvest. Thanks for the nice report.

Reminder that you can only get 10xp off barbs, so if you want more xp then send someone else.

Hmmm, rice and gems. It is like the game wants us to build a giant wall of culture to punish Civ players for not signing Open Borders.

Sullla, one small request (since you're clearly not pulling your weight round here!): At the end of your turnset, could you post the sandbox savefile if you have it up to date, together with a link to the micro spreadsheet. Only if you have the file, don't do any extra work to create it. Thanks!

I don't make up new sandbox files for each turn; kjn was doing that before, but he hasn't had time lately. What I do have are savegame files from when I typed up the micro plan, which I'll link here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19563179/ISDG/IS...-saves.zip

The current micro plan is always edited into the first post of the Micromanagement/Sims thread. I'll link it again here for reference: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?...ring#gid=0

We haven't discovered anything that would prompt another change since CivFr built Mausoleum last week. I'll probably try to extend this a few turns further (beyond T113) next week. Going more than a half-dozen turns ahead tends to be wasteful, since any time something comes up it has to be completely redone.

Sullla, I have been reading through the forums over the last few days, and I have to say that you have put an amazing amount of work into this game. A big thank you from all the lurkers! thumbsup
