Your round starts off poorly. Thoven fires and misses, briefly losing control of his levitation spell. Bradwyn's firing is less awkward, but still ineffective, as his arrows skip off the tough hide of the Ogre. Mara's shot also does no damage.

While the rest of the party is engaged in tickling the Ogre, Mariel and Menas head down the hill toward the human-like figure, the source of all the noise. As they approach, they hear some moaning and become convinced it's a male human, but they can't see any detail at this time.

Finally, Grouk and Gunther walk up and have some more success. Grouk's kick misses, but his elbow strike makes the Ogre's eyes cross and start to fall. Gunther's follow-up blow with his axe takes the Ogre beyond hope, and it dies.

Kilthan shakes his head, ruefully. "You're much better at this sort of thing than I'd guessed. I thought I'd have to rescue you, and instead it's over before I can lay in!"

As combat fades, the general noise level does too, and the quiet moans from down the hill become audible to everyone. What do you do next?

[OOC]Also, since Pling and Brick are otherwise occupied, any reasonable suggestion for their actions will be acted upon.[/OOC]

I unequip my bow and start searching for my arrows. 3 of them are probably either near the dead ogre or just off the slope, the final one closer to where the human lies.

So yea, I take two movement actions while looking for my arrows.

Perception bonus 4.

"The Ogres are dead, we are coming to help you" - Menas shouts to the human-like figure.

I keep moving in his direction, weapons still in my hand. I don't run, just keep walking carefully, trying to see if there's some sort of trap or another hidden enemy nearby. Also keep my attention to see if the human-like figure has a chance of being hostile.

I would suggest that brick runs to catch up with menas while pling sneaks in the same direction.

Grouk grins at the dwarf scout.
"You're not babysitting us, shorty. Hired muscle, here to help."

"Hey elfbird!" Grouk waves at Thoven. "See anything else scary while you're up there?"

Grouk gets to work tearing off the orges' ears.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

Approach the captive, taking careful stock of both him and the surroundings.
One move should get me to I-50, would like a more detailed description (which should be available from 2m away) before completing action.

"We have a cleric, he'll be here shortly to help. Details of the circumstances leading to this state of events would be appreciated, though I suppose they can wait until you are capable of other than that piteous moaning."

--
If nothing untoward detected nearby, and I don't get back between a better description of the man and continuation of events:
If restrained: move up to him with the intention of removing said restraints.
Else stand around being generally watchful and awkwardly awaiting a healer who can actually help tongue

Gunther should move towards the captive unless we discover a reason not to and warn him.
Mara approaching from her side while keeping watch also seems sensible.
-- Don’t forget.
Always, somewhere,
someone is fighting for you.
-- As long as you remember her,
you are not alone.

Thoven quickly rights himself and seeing both Ogres dead does a little jig.

"Elfbird indeed" he mutters, moonwalking.

He moves up another 20 feet and scans the surroundings for any other threats or signs of life or interest.

If combat is over and we're off rounds, Thoven also just levitates down once he's had a look around.

Thoven sees no new threat. In the distance in the direction you were heading, he sees a smudge that's probably the city that's your current destination. Further from the road, to the north the hills get steeper until it's clearly mountains, while to the south, the hills get shallower and turn into plains.

Kilthan joins the group headed for the noise, but he's still lagging a bit behind.

For those approaching the source of the noise, they see a male human, with red hair and beard, and a lot of injuries. He's bruised all over, with a lot of cuts and scrapes. He's wearing some scraps and rags that look as though they used to be rich clothing, before it was abused. No boots, and his toes look broken. Despite the multitude of painful looking injuries, nothing looks life-threatening.

He's breathing raggedly, and clearly trying to control his pain to the exclusion of all else. At least, he doesn't seem to have reacted to you yet despite the yelling and no attempt at stealth.

Nearby, there's a wagon. All of its containers have had the lids ripped off, there's a lot of spilled and ruined contents on the ground all around it, and it's got a broken wheel. Now that you look carefully, it seems to have been dragged here from the road, with the broken wheel digging a small furrow as it came; clearly moved by something very strong.

There's also a bit of a trail heading east from here (the direction you were going), but you'd need a successful tracking roll (Survival skill, I think) to follow it any distance. Also need to roll to judge how many creatures, or what type, and which direction they travelled, if you want to know.

In this brief time period, Bradwyn finds one of his four fired arrows.

I'll start heading towards the tracks, again taking two movement actions, keeping a lookout for the other three of my arrows. I'll try to take a path similar to as my arrows took, like starting down the ledge around the place where the dead bodies are, etc. Hopefully I will find more.

I fully intend to do a survival check to read the tracks once I arrive there.

I get down and head towards the wagon and group.

"All clear. It looks like the town isn't too too far away, at least so says the smudge of buildings against the horizon. Anyone had a chance to speak to our new friend as of yet?"
