I think that successfully blockades it yeah. It covers both the water tiles adjacent to his city, and the city is not connected to its adjacent land tiles (unless one of them has a road you don't know about, I guess).

Also, congrats on taking over 2nd place in thread views from Lewger... with waaay less posts. Keep up the great reporting!
Thanks, Ceil! I think I've done enough bear-baiting to make this interesting still. I struck with the catapults, getting decent damage on the top mace. Attack is on, and pay attention to meeee, Serdoa, keep focused here, ignore the ridiculously vulnerable two empires' worth of land to your east.
First attack, Kalin's Expedition, won at 1:3 odds, taking out the longbow. Second attack, Brian's Shilaleighs, lost unsurprisingly but did zero damage. Okay, then, plan B, hang out, blockade to stop another upgrade, and unload chariot/axe. Load cat/spear for next wave. As can be seen in the event log (and in the score, really), I finished the Parthenon. This sad little city is now at last released to grow big and strong, hammering out much navy I think. Thanks to the Parthenon, our other Doric Wonder in a Craphole will produce a GP in 12, rather than 18, turns. Good deal indeed. Of course we can't ignore the third classical Grecian building wonder, the Great Library. Capital has six more turns to bang it out, so Serdoa or Plako might beat us to it but I think they're a touch distracted. I like the capital in this hammer configuration...it'll knock out a three-turn Great Wall next if it looks like Serdoa's dander is up and knights are incoming, the GG bonus is great. The health crunch ought to be helped soon, we're a turn away from settling our own rice source. Look forward to getting this city up and running fast, might not be used as a GP farm, but darn it, this is a huge crop boost. CY and MFG down post-whips, ironically GNP is up. I'm happy enough, the power needs to grow and BE/cats are going to be extant until rifles. Top land area and sixth in soldiers is just never a good idea. So, we'll whip a bit more next turn. Some places, like Hawk's Ridge here, are going to get infra instead, a forge online would do wonders for speeding up Moai. I think I'll whip-frenzy this sucker with archers, and then we're looking at about 10-15 turns to get the stones online. Turn: 151 Status:

Once again, I log into the game for a bit of a lookie see and there is a key diplo offer staring me in the face.
Serdoa is offering white peace. f5 shows 3 Serdoan Maces visible to us so he's upgraded the last axe. I don't think we have a snowball's chance in hell of taking that city right now. Probably best to accept while it doesn't cost us anything.

As I said in Gmail:
Quote:Hah, sure thing! Doesn't cost us anything? This is the best deal ever. At the cost of one cat and an axe, we just cost him 470 gold in upgrades. Yeah, let's take the peace and count it a win.Seriously, that's a lot of turns of gold lost at a minimal cost.
