WW21 - The Professor Is Dead [game thread]

Ok re-reading, the following jumped out at me:

Zak
Quote:This smells like you were given a safe claim and are just eager to get it out there.
followed by
Quote: But I don't know if there are any particular characters that strike me as much more likely to be scum than the others. I guess there are a couple that seem likely to be town, though. It's not clear to me how "outing" these characters will be useful.
Seems a bit of a contradiction

Post #44 seems very lazy vague suspicion scum type post

Serdoa
Early labelling of a wolf pair is a bit odd, but probably not too far out of character
#55 i believe misintprets Ryan heavily which I think Serdoa is normally careful not to do (I think Zak and Ryan were talking about posts on Zak, Serdoa took the conversation to be votes on Ryan)

Matt
Quote:OMGUS Gazglum
Didnt really see what he picked up on, and he didnt explain further
#83 I dont follow his attack on Lewwyn

Ryan
Bunches of off topic computer game comments, seems a nice way to show activity while doing nothing

Novice
Never responded to his why would serdoa switch bandwagons. a possible answer is Q/Serdoa pairing, but not sure I believe that... maybe he believes Q can be mislynched later and wants Ryan now?
If he agrees with Q that zak is doing a 'look at me', and his case on Q is weak, why not switch?

Q
#62 he votes me for no reason at all, but I did have some heat, maybe hoping to start some more movement on me? later he comments he thinks I was trying to herd onto him, but not really pushed the case agaisnt him at all.
#75 basically says a blind lynch is likely to give you a villager (obvious) and does last will when he is far from dead and has lots of time (been done succesfully before (by me for one) but you really need to sell it which he doesnt). Seems to me as an attempt to dodge a lynch with pity not logic

Lewwyn
Not seeing his hemming post as that bad, and his argument on zak is believable.
Dont like the flip back to q rather than pushing the zak theory harder, seems like backing down from an argument which isnt Lewwyn

Way to selectively quote, Jkaen.

ok so thinking my way through the notes we have:
Zak - seems a bit lazy, but contributing so do not want swinging yet
Serdoa - I think seems like normal
Matt - Seems to be casting round alot, happy to vote here
Ryan - null read
Novice - minor question, but not enough to vote
Q - I think is a panacing villager
Lewwyn - worried about the backing off from the case in the light of I think weak arguments from others

Ordering that gives me
Matt, Lewwyn/Zak, Novice, Ryan, Serdoa, Q with the uncommented gazglum about at ryan position

Too late for a Matt bandwagon, so Zak

Every time we quote somebody elses comments we selectively quote what we feel sticks out to us personnaly and comment on it.

Way to try and dismiss a point, Zak.

I kind of expected this.

Here's the problem, I'm really torn between Qg and Zak as lynch today. I was planning to vote Qg before Zak attacked me and made me rethink him. And I want to make it clear I'm not backing down from the Zak argument. I still think it was a scummy attack, however, Qg has posted since then and there are several things that bug me.

He states that this will be his last will and testament, when at the time he was not in the lead of votes. I seriously think that he was pretending that he didn't know how the votes were currently lined up. And that he was just posting that to garner more innocent vibes. The timing of the post felt off. And then he voted Zak, even though he said he was going to die belieing the idea that he didn't know voting for Zak put him in the clear. He also gives us a classic scum list where everyone is scum except Gaz who is null. To quote:

Quote:- Gazglum, no idea. I agree his play feels a bit awkward, but it generally seems to be good evil hunting despite it [asid: if I flip evil you're welcome to interpret this as distancing]

Is he trying to insinuate that he's going to flip town? Why would he need to insinuate that? Why doesn't Qg just say I'm going to flip town!?

Anyway. I still think Zak's attack on me was suspicious, but Qg's latest posts are worse. So I changed my vote to Qg.

What even is the case? Slight awkwardness in initial post, with the explanation not being deemed sufficient? And then, the whole "this would totally be distancing, were I a wolf. But, uh, I'm not, honest, so it's not actually"?
Seems rather typical for Qgqqqqq, honestly.

Essentially my case on Q is that he claimed to be "something scruffy" when his role PM ought to have told him pretty clearly that he was Scruffy the Janitor.

Well, that's what brought me on to Q at least, and now that he's been the centrepiece of today's discussion it would be interesting to see his alignment.

Crossposting a bit, will read up now.
I have to run.

OMGUS = Oh My God You Suck (for voting me)
ie. there wasn't anything to pick up on, and I explained the 'reasoning' fully in the post.

'Casting around a lot' consists of looking at both current candidates, not really seeing any cases, and voting for a third option? Sure...

Also, now you have me imagining making a metal statue of a rather rotund alot tongue

Ok, so we're 4/4/1? If we hold that pattern another hour and a bit, my understanding is that Zak will survive, because the most recent Zak/Q vote is Jkaen's on Zak, and that will be removed to break the tie.

I understand your last post Lewwyn, and I was also unimpressed with Q's misunderstanding of the stakes when they were so immediately personal to his survival. But I'm going to stick with Zak. I think that when Q emits scummy vibes, he might just be playing sloppy. I don't buy sloppiness for Zak, and I'm happy to keep my vote parked on him. I know Zak was out first round last game too, and I feel a bit bad about that. But not bad enough to change my vote.
