Assuming that someone has the power to add a half vote or break a tie, what happened here? 1. Zak (understandably) saved himself. Null tell, and might explain why he seemed relatively unstressed in the final hours. But that could just be Zak. 2. One of the other 3 Q-voters (Serdoa?) just really didn't want to see Zak dead, either because they are scum buddies or they just felt he was innocent. They double voted Q, just to make sure. If the vote was a 1--shot power, then I don't buy this scenario, because it looked like Q as going down anyway. If it's a daily power then I guess it makes sense to use it. I don't think this tells us much either way, except that Zak's friends like him. 3. Mattimeo is trolling us. 4. Really sneaky - one of the Zak voters wanted Q dead, but didn't want any blood on their hands. If this Mystery Player were village, I don't see why they would want Q dead but be unwilling to vote publicly for him. But if Zak is scum, then his scum-buddy has a perfect way to gain cover and protect him at the same time, by voting Zak publicly but putting the tie-breaking vote on Q. In this scenario, you have Scum Zak allied with one of Ryan, Jkaen or (if you must) me. I think this line of reasoning is worth looking at tomorrow. Any actual vote for zak would have trumped the half-vote, too. Which leads me to believe it's either a passive addition to someone's vote (ie. they vote at 1.5 power), an enforced ability (they *must* use it each day) or someone who didn't understand the tie-break rules (say, the person who's treating the half-vote as if it's what killed Qgqqqqq) Also, while it's entirely consistent with how I would troll, it's not me -- Don’t forget.

Rereading the thread, my initial thoughts on where the 0.5 votes come from feel confirmed, but I don't want to speculate about people's roles during nighttime.
I have to run.

FYI, I'll probably be a bit late with the update tonight. Deadline is still 1200GMT, so please don't post between then and when I get a chance to update.
I haven't had much time to think about this since yesterday. I'll be busy for the first half of day 2, as well.
I don't think I'll bite it but who knows. My plan for this game was basically to lynch Q, watch him flip scum, and then be night killed. I still feel that was a solid plan, on the face of it. :P So I'm still suspicious of everybody who voted for me yesterday. Though if I do die then I guess it might also be a frame job. As an aside, Gazglum is giving me some "Look at me! I'm scumhunting!" vibes.
If you know what I mean.
Cubert was playing Dungeons & Dragon's with his friends, to try and get his mind off the horrible things that had been happening at Planet Express. He rolled a 20 and by a freak coincidence had an amazing, fantastic, spectacular idea for catching the killers. Unfortunately, at this very moment, Zapp Brannigan was convinced by the mafia that Cubert would make an excellent addition to his troops that were about to embark upon a journey to the centre of the sun. He was promptly taken away, given basic training, and catapulted into the sun.
Jkaen was killed. Jkaen was Cubert. Cubert was innocent. |
