[SPOILERS] TT tries yet again to not be terrible

well we will have odds on the GE. if we don't get it, we can trade away calender while jowy is still holding onto it and build an academy.

GLIB will be great for us, but I think MOM is always better wink. and no reason we can't get both smile. glib is cheap anyway, you wouldnt want to waste a GE on it.

Calendar has been handed around IMO - and Jowy isn't the one with it to trade, its Cornflakes.

We will have about 50% chance on Engineer so don't count your chickens just yet.

MoM would be better if we stronger research power, right now we need all the specialists we can get so GLib is better for me.

Anyway, we find out next turn so lets see what we get.

If we get a Scientist, should I bulb Philosophy and found our third religion or settle?

golden ages double GP chances as well, its not just about tile yield.

not sure about bulbing. Founding another religion won't benefit us unless you plan to pursue a culture victory.
OTOH philosophy would be excellent trade bait and could give us a heads up in the liberalism race down the line. and the philosophy religious civic might prove handy.

I don't like settling, but I do like an academy in the capital. not sure which would be better, tbh. lets see what we get, I'm hoping for the engineer (we'll have plenty of chances for a scientists down the road).

Academy won't be worth squat to us for a while - we won't be able to run 100% much without building a lot of wealth. Settling will give us a lot more gain than that IMO.

Philosophy would be good trade bait and pacifism would be helpful for more GP production too. Just a case of figuring out what we trade for.

ok, good point. although hopefully you build a lot markets and courthouses soon and change that smile. and mature those cottages in the capital.

I guess I like the bulb then. still hoping we get GE instead though smile.

We've got an Engineer!

Right now we can get Literature in 3 turns, Calendar in 4.

As I've traded Aesthetics around a bit, I still think its better to go for the G Lib and then we could head to Music for the Great Artist there for a golden age.

You have until the end of this turn to convince me otherwise.

heh. I'm at work now but I'll log in and do a turn report anyway when I get home in a few hours.

dude, MOM is so much more powerful than GL. with the GP we're pumping out we'll get 3, maybe 4 golden ages (and 1 more if we can land taj) - thats 12-20 extra turns of golden age!

besides that, no one has lit right? so there is no reason we can't use the engineer on mom, then research lit and build it the old fashion way (TGL is considerably cheaper than MOM, so building MOM the old fashion way is much harder).

Plus we already have partial research into calender, if we trade for it thats basically wasted - humans won't give you partial credit for a half researched tech like an AI would!

Noone has Lit, but Jowy & Cornflakes now have Aesthetics

Plus we need to bear in mind that we are not Philosophical - GPs take time and I don't think we will pop out loads.

Calendar is out there, we have industrious competitors who may be building it.

Plus it think that with Tech Brokering on, bulbs become more important that usual so I think we may not want to spend them all on golden ages.

I really do think that a GLib rush with movement towards the Music Artist for a golden age is a stronger play.

ok after logging in I still prefer calender. of note: we can actually get calender in 3 turns by turning research up to 60%, and hiring an extra scientist in philosoraptur, forever alone, and business cat (you could probably also improve this by building wealth in spots -maybe even 2 turn calender??). I think its worth the small risk that cornflakes builds it in those 3 turns. he is IND, but he doesnt have marble and MOM is expensive, so I think we can steal it from him here. also, on the turn we research it we can immediately use the engineer, then trade it to jowy for HBR (and whatever tech is researched by someone else in the mean time) - diluting its trade value for cornflakes.

I also don't like letting cornflakes - who is leading atm anyway - get MOM.

it could costs us TGL, but MOM is worth more, imo. also still a great chance we get TGL - I think everyone else will value civil service more than literature. (also, there's nothing wrong with wealth building in high hammer cities to rush towards key wonders). honestly it might end up being another 30+ turns before TGL falls, who knows

as for not pumping out great people - we don't want to golden age for until we have more cities anyway, MOM is more of a long term wonder than a immediate help wonder.

anyway, thats my opinion, doesnt mean its right, but feels right to me. I put the citizens all back to the way you had them.

it looks like you are about to land circumnavigation - is that still on the table? yay.

I don't get while jowy has used a golden age already, seems very silly.
