Also with regards to CivFr, GNP tracking revealed that they already have Literature tech researched (and therefore Aesthetics as well). This is very useful information for us: with Literature tech and marble, that's a guaranteed Great Library wonder for CivFr in their capital. No point in even challenging this.

I don't want to steal KJN's thunder, but it looks like they learned Literature very recently, possibly last turn. I agree that their marble advantage makes them a lock for the Great Library, but I think we can still beat them to the music artist if they don't beeline.

KJN's demo work shows CivFR still lacks Code of Laws, which seems a very reasonable next tech. (Also might explain the Rival Best GNP leap) Don't give up on the Music artist yet.

We should probably move Parthenon way up the priority list just for denial.

What do the trade glance screen and Top Cities screen look like?

Sullla, I am pretty sure that our moai city should work two coasts instead of the spice and grassland mine. (And in general we should prioritize working those moai coasts over those tiles as we grow more!)

2c for 1f (coast over spice): obviously great trade.
2h for 1f 3c: great trade in the abstract given that whip conversion is close to 1f:2h - it's 3c completely for free, AND we care more about earlier citizens than earlier items produced from that city. It's a little iffier in a Moai/HE city which we may not whip in the near future, but IMO not nearly enough to make it a bad choice.

I suggest you make those tile swaps. Seems like a clear win to me.

@Ceiliazul, we really can't race someone with marble to parthenon, so if we think CivFr wants it I actually suggest we don't even worry about it.

Agree with moar food. We have 3 happy points just sitting there begging to be used, 2 more as whip anger wears off.

Agree with sticking to the music plan for the moment. CivFr probably picked up Literature to build the Great Library, not (at least not directly) to pick up Music too. They still miss some other key techs so there is a decent chance they might move onto those instead of continuing the top of the tech tree. Also, they don't appear to have Stone. Engineering is still some time away for every team, but I would give us a decent chance of getting there first since we're about to supercharge our research, which is already very impressive. That should put us on the right track for landing the Notre Dame unless Apolyton makes a play for it, no?

Great stuff.

Can we accumulate research overflow in a way that lets us 1-turn Music? It would suck to part-research it just to see CivFr grab the artist from us. OTOH if our C&D indicates we'll beat them to it if we don't dawdle, I'm all for it.

About the settler completing in Tree Huggers - I realize this is probably too late to do anything about due to micro ramifications, but is that filler city the best spot to settle now? We have spots in the south claiming 3-4 new resources. Maybe we have another settler planned shortly for that area?

About the 3rd missionary for WPC, maybe ask if there are any archers headed our way? smile
I guess we need to figure out how to handle WPC longer term diplomatically, since we may call off the German invasion. If we're busy chasing first-to bonii with CivFr peace may be better.

I think the spot up near tree huggers is more because its going to be our heroic epic AMD we want it set up.

We're planning to put the Heroic Epic in Horse Feathers.

Sorry I haven't kept completely up to date with the different plans.
Continuing that idea though, id say that the current site is a) easier to micro for (with workers in the area and moving between cities) and b) doesn't require an extended military support.
Id also say that those areas to the south will likely be backroom, as we have a agreement with cibplayers and a lake border with CFC (who are also at wr).

I've likely just embarrassedmyself on several fronts, but ah well.

This is probably the main reason Sullla is doing this city now. Since it's a filler city it's not needed for claiming land, and a backline city would need even less defenses since we've got the great wall protecting against barbs.
