We've had some in-game messages from WPC as well, and I think we should ask them to send their proposals using our e-mail account instead of using in-game proposals. Much easier to handle them that way.

Here is the latest WPC offer. I said that we would discuss and get back to them:



My first reaction to this is still "no", and my second reaction is still, "LOL how dumb do you think we are?" Trading a very valuable gems resource to another team in return for the promise of furs in maybe a dozen turns feels like a really stupid move. We'll likely have our own supply of furs by that time. I mean, we're already sending them quite a few missionaries, and we agreed to their alliance proposal. They have nothing that we want and are totally pathetic as a civilization. I don't see why we should give them yet another happiness resource totally for free.

Hopefully one of you more talented than me can put that into a polite refusal.

That said, trading gems for furs is at least a decent trade, but we will have our own source of fur too, though not in 12t.

We could trade for furs, with an agreement that the furs will be exchanged for dyes when we hook up our own source of furs, otherwise we can cancel the deal. Thoughts?

They are still a fair bit away from Calendar… no Sailing yet, as far as I know.

There is also the difference in outlook that WPC has compared to ours. We didn't view the stone between us and CFC as ours until we planted Starfall. We expanded and had the units ready to take the barb city that became Eastern Gem Dealers. Even if they had taken it, they would still need Iron Working to improve the gems.

But communicating that to them will be nigh impossible.

I think we should sell our gems to someone... This way we'll stop the requests at least.

My initial reaction is that we could give WPC the gems unless we work out a deal with another team. It doesn't serve us any purpose having them in excess and if we cannot sell them to someone, might as well give them to a weak team that is also close to being our ally/vassal.
