And I might lose internet/PC access tuesday - sunday next week, Easter holiday.
A bit awkward to outsource those turns, as I think tuesday is turn 10, which should be 1 turn before attacking the Ljosalfar capital city unless I see some reason to abandon the attack.
We'll see. Ichabod or Ranamar, are either of you available to play a couple turns next week tuesday-friday?

Well, it's suddenly more likely that I can connect and play after all.
Quick turn, new demos. (Mid-turn, not EOT).
Someone's got 6 MFG.
Why?

Well, a plains hill settle + a 1/3 ancient forest plains hill would give a 3 food, 6 production setup...
Settled Engineer from a Great Lair pop? I bet you aren't the only one with a great lair no near your capital... By the way, with the Pyre near you, you can always put fire in all the jungle nearby. Could also use it to burn the elves, if needed later (hopefully not).

I could play turns if you need it... US Pacific evening or morning TZ preferably, though... I missed when your usual time slot is.
You'll probably get higher-quality play from Ichabod, though.
As for mfg... a Great Engineer would get +3 if someone gambles on the greater lair, as Ichabod said. Alternately, someone might have decided to build something bonused, but none of the buildings available now are better than workers or warriors, I'd think. A bonused Granary would get 6 mfg out of 3 hammers, for example. (I can't imagine anyone would be building a monument in their capital as creative.) Perpentach hasn't changed attributes, has he?
What if someone else is rushing a warrior or worker with a forest plains hill next to a plains hill? We don't have anything even approaching that in hammer potential, so I find it unlikely...

I can play the saves, if needed.
Bonused buildings/units don't show in the graphs. Only "universal" bonuses to production show (like a forge or factory, things that apply to everything being built). So that can't be it, unfortunately (it'd be good, way better than having someone with a popped GEng). Still hoping it's the ancient plains hill forest option, though... Maybe Serdoa decided to go expansive settler first, since he had so much production avaiable so early. It could make sense with the barbarian trait + the lack of starting tech.

Hm, this is fun. Figuring out stuff. I need serious help still, though. I thought it might be someone making something with a bonus. Someone dropped from 11 to 10 beakers as well as dropped to 3 food, which leads me to believe that someone switched a tile, instead of settling a GE - which probably would have upped GNP by 3?
I got passed in MFG, which means someone was producing 3 hammers total and is now producing 6.
I think someone swapped from a 3/0/1 tile to a 1/3/0 one, and had a PH start, along with the hammer from palace. Since I have a pre-placed mine near my capital no reason others couldn't have one too.
Switch could have been to balance teching with worker completion, but also perhaps someone saw a reason to go hammer-heavy for a few turns... I'll know after contact and before any rash declaration I suppose. I'll be careful to send just 1 warrior to make contact, then check graphs and see if I still have a shot before sending rest. I suspect if he sees my little gang he will know what I was planning...
I'll keep you posted about playing some turns, we are staying with people who definately have internet, so only real obstacle is the wife.

You mean using the fire mana + elementalism + adepts? Or is there some cool way to make that Pyre spew fire?

It would be some coup to have a mine before T5.
I think PH under an AF is the most plausible explanation we've come up with so far.

I'm pretty sure he means adepts. It's not that difficult to get to Knowledge of the Ether, after all...

....but I had a mine at turn 0...
But I had 2 AF as well, so.

So you did, and I missed that... That's thoroughly plausible, then.
