The third option is almost worthless: 40 turns of +1 happy in all Jew cities.
I'm debating between the first and the 2nd

The 2nd is +1 pop in Gilgamesh. which is cool I can pick up the plains cottage from the iliad. we'll go -1 food but I can work the rice every 5th turn or so to compensate, or once the war ends. very useful, actually, because it will be 20 turns at least before I start growing again here.

the 1st option is the permanent one.. the problem is I need to work the mines here, not the furs, and also, I'm not even certain which camp is gettin the +1 food (can you tell from this picture?) - if its eastern one, great, but if its either of the other 2 - those camps will never be in a cities BFC so that will be a waste.

Guess I'm leaning towards the +1 pop, then, but open to being talked into #1. I don't need to play the turn for a bit.

i forgot we're at our health cap until we get the deer connected (still some 10 turns away) so I'll have to borrow the rice more often to keep from starving.. our happy cap is 17 but there's resources out there if I need them (i.e. cancel 3gpt for fur and offer fur for silk for yuri) and I won't be growing to 18 for awhile..

after thinking about it a bit its not that hard of a decision... the +1 pop will be very useful immediately as I turn on research in 3 turns with an academy, the +1 food won't be useful for 50 turns or so when I approach 19-20 pop in gilgamesh. plus I'm paranoid that it will give the food to the wrong fur camp

gilgamesh is the only city that is approaching its happy cap, and it won't reach size 18 until the war is over.. so I'm not sure I would get any benefit at all from it, tbh, and if I did it would be very little.

+1 happy forever I would take, but not for 40 turns.

free Jew spread first turn of founding! this is extremely convenient, means the chop will get OR bonus and we'll be able to work the primo horses tile that much sooner!

we also got a second Jew spread in an unknown city.. it didn't show up in the event log (I only know from extra shrine gold) so I think that means it spread to a civ we haven't met?

well, azza does not appear to be building maces

in 5 turns we'll have it on all his Jewish cities, and visibility on his non jewish cities

I'll do a big report for the turn Friday, since I get good Friday off. in the meantime:

1. commodore birthed a great prophet :/. taoism has 9% spread, not far behind our 13% spread, which gets us 21 gpt, so he should get 16 gpt or so - and of course he'll pass us once he spreads it to all his own cities (also we have 1 taoist city - shahnahmeh). That just leaves Slowcheetah (confuscianism) w/o a shrine. Serdoa did found christianity and birthed a second great prophet, but it seems unlikely he'll use it for a shrine - I think he's saving it for a 2 person GA.
2. commodore got the "gold miners struck the motherload" event in one of his cities - as if he needed more help :/
3. Plako lifted another city off merohoc - the third in a week of real time. 5-6 turns with the pause we had to take. So.... Merohoc might not be long for this world, and we'll have 3 big blobs + Serdoa ahead of us frown.

on a personal note:
1. we produced a mace in gilgamesh, maths, and S of Roland this turn. Roland is going to have to produce some MP archers for itself and shah, and a garrison for future city of rama's journey. thanks to +2 "we fear for safety" and whip unhappy roland is at its happy cap at size 6. maths grows to size 9 next turn and I'll either configure it for max hammers or grow it to size 10 first, not sure yet.
2. chopped a 1 turn walls into mahabrata. call me paranoid, but serdoa's MFG is off the charts (lucky his workshops are on his mainland, which borders azza and commodore - his cities between us and brick are commerce/cottage driven) - still I'm sure he has a healthy navy). with all the bonuses we get into walls the one chop produces 75 hammers. walls cost 50, so we get enough overflow to finish up the partially completed lighthouse next turn and start a library. i'll chop that as well, pump out a quick barracks, and then start pumping military. we'll want the library as we get decent commerce here, from the lake, 2 wine tiles, and marble. plus we need it to complete our quest.
3. whipped a 2 pop lighthouse in shahnahmeh, overflowing into trieme to go meet easern civs, then courthouse and library. 2 pop whipped the settler out of popol as well. could have 3 pop whipped it last turn, but 1 turn to save a pop and work cottages seemed justifiable. building a plains workshop so it can actually have some non-whip hammers soon. 4 cities are close to being in a quick mace/whip cycle - the iliad, king arthur, the odyssey, and the aeneid.
4. el cid will finish its galley in 2 turns, then the last forest will chop into it completing a trieme in 1 turn. then I'll likely 1 pop whip another trieme (just to make sure) and overflow into mace.
5. dropped Andrei Sakharov and his mace escort off on the shore 1N of Gilgamesh. next turn we build the academy and finally turn research on smile. we'll have 1095 gold stored up for about 7.5 turns of 100% science! gilgamesh is producing roughly 33% of our economy atm, so an academy at 100% science adds roughly 17% to our science production, woohoo. we should be able to 1 turn aesthetics AND literature, but we'll need to decide quickly what to research after that. I'll discuss that more later.

1. serdoa revolted to mercantilism, yuck. I would send him a request for open borders - might as well, now, but neither one of us has alphabet lol.
2. scoter revolted to beauracracy. less scary, but he's catching up and is definitely relevant in this game now.

4. plako took ANOTHEER city of merohoc. the only city they have left on their mainland is a city settled in the ice in the far north. they also have 3 island cities. if plako pushes he can probably wipe them out in 10-20 turns or so (not sure how big his navy is).

academy gave us just under 50 beakers and allows us to 1 turn aesthetics smile. we'll 1 turn lit next turn as well. I'll use the min science to finish lit to give us some flexibility since we have decided what to research next.

maths:

decided to go ahead and grow it to size 10 here. the archer is for defense/mp so I can move out all maces. I have a chop (from the furs that aren't in any BFC) coming in the turn the archer finishes, I'll insert heroic epic in to catch the chop and finish that quickly (I can also move a farm to mine that turn and still grow at EOT). that'll enable me to pump out maces very quickly through the duration of the war.

I only whipped volsung (mace) this turn, should be a few whips coming in next turn though. which I'm going to go ahead and play now smile.

so this happenned:

I accepted this deal, but I shouldnt have :/. I just offered the same deal to xenu the last turn. im really hoping xenu declines it now, as we'll end up with two sugars and 0 furs. this won't affect most cities, but it will put us into 1 unhappy in gilgamesh. I tinkered with my micro in hindlesdiofjdsk (the new city I can't spell) to get the ice-hill fur hooked up asap, but that is still 3 turns off (I have 5 workers in the area so I can rush it, but borders don't expand for another 2 turns).
so.. I didn't end turn I'll have to log in after xenu plays to see if he accepts it and fix gilgamesh's micro if he does. Im thinking of giving up the non-grassland cottage and giving the shared plains cottage back to the iliad so I can maintain the mace every 2 turns pace (assuming Ill have to work the rice).
alternatively I guess I could DOW on xenu or plako to end a deal, but not sure how I feel about that..

so plako came to us. I whipped the trieme in shahnahmeh right before we made contact... so I guess it'll be used to make contact w/ merohoc, then head south via scooter to make contact the long way with slowcheetah (plako doesnt have alphabet, so I can't open borders with him).

took my first shot at the barb garrison at 95%. we won, mace has 3.6 health left. it can promote next turn to city raider one (i should have taken that instead of C1, oh well), and we'll have a 2nd mace that can attack as well. depending on odds I may heal this one or go ahead and take the shot of razing it, not sure. If plako pushes on with his galley we could end up trapping it (since neither of us has alphabet) once we found rama's journey, that will be awkward.
