I'm not convinced he is. Where do the numbers in question come from, if that's the case?

Ignoring fatfingering 'thing' for 'think' that is exactly what I was doing. Working the cottage tiles would delay the missionary 7 turns. Looking back, I missed the priest so this is not quite right. Eh. Someone less drunk than me should probably do the analysis more rigorously.

Oh, I think I'm getting it now. You dismissed the whip in the first sentence and were comparing 2 cottages vs 2 bare grass hills in the second one. I'd thought the numerical comparison was supposed to be 2 hills and a priest vs 2 grass cottages and 1 whipped pop.
I think it's pretty obvious we finish the missionary, btw. Only question for me is whether it's via whip, or working 3 awful tiles.

The Spanish took Chinook as expected, and its are interesting. Note that it has three improved tiles around it - all cottages, and one of them is up to a hamlet! They're at:
19t to village; 3t to hamlet; 9t to hamlet. Then there are also the various roaded tiles.
Thus I think this must be a very old barbarian city, especially since Nobamba was founded on T54. This is also a coastal city - I spotted waves on the coast tile to its SE. I'm really glad the Spanish managed to take it in the end, but how could they allow CivFr to take it in the first place?

BTW - I think I prefer whipping the missionary in TH. We can overflow to a unit and get the missing unit that way.

I think I remember something about a suggestion we need another unit, hence the whipping idea... but could you point me to it?

Seems really risky to go for drama and risk losing the music artist. You could get music a turn earlier if you just went for it directly.

Silly idea: given that we've gone for the Great Wall and the Statue of Zeus, what about doing the holy trifecta of defensive wonders, and get the Chichen Itza in Brick by Brick? We have the three third-ring forests to the west of the river that we've just claimed.
I think we need to keep a look at Wesselburen and its forests for GLH purposes. It has a lighthouse and five forests. Currently 13H invested. Wien is at 69H invested. Wismar at 0 right now.
A city 1N of the furs looks quite nice. Crabs, plains cow, and the furs. Will never be a powerhouse, but a decent city.

No idea where that is, but TH's axe was sent to Cutting Edge, so it might very well be in Sullla's turn reports.
With AO starting to grow again next turn, we will need more MP units, no question about it.

We will need Drama anyway, for theatres and the Globe in Starfall. It's not like Music is critical for us anyway right now. If we get a notice about a Great Artist in the next two turns, we simply skip Music and go on to the Liberalism race.
I'm also unsure if we could get Music 1t earlier anyway. Drama's cheap, and a pre-requisite for Music.
