Okay, a few things of note:
It seems my screen shot of the new traits didn't take, but I am now: Aggressive, Spiritual, and Industrious. (Gee, that'd have been nice to have when I was still making a worker!)
Speaking of, the Worker will finish the farm 2 turns before Calendar is done. Not really sure what to do with him after that. Maybe make a flood plains farm? I also might go Crafting next so I can make some mines.
So I met a guy. I'd contact him, but I have no idea who is playing Jonas right now! I might dig through the tech thread to see. They didn't contact me, either. Also, I have no idea why I moved my warrior SE. I knew the bear would be there, I knew it! I was going to build a scout, but now I'm building a Warrior instead to replace this guy. So I suppose I might as we build a couple of warriors and then prep a Settler for settlin'. At least my Agg trait will be put to use now.
Hm. Perhaps after Crafting (maybe I want Exploration, too?) I should try to get Runes of Kilmorph and hope I'm still spiritual.
Considering the Spiritual and Aggressive traits, I think I might communicate with others like I'm "sober" Gamzee, if any of you know who that is.

Ooookay, so. I got the save and it appears a few things of great importance have happened.
My warrior survived! HAHAHAHAHA! What a joke!
However, look at that event... I'm glad I make it a habit to check the event log (sadly, there was no combat log for the bear, but I'm sure it had great odds--shame I'm no longer Charismatic to make full use of that 4 XP!).
Yeahhhhh. So, despite checking the event log, it appears I missed "For the Horde" being cast a turn or two ago. I think it happened same turn or right before my traits changed. Considering that a Civ just got wiped out, I very much doubt that this squad is going to bypass my city. I feel real bad for Sian, though--after all this time waiting, just to get wiped out at the start. Well, I have no intent to go down so quietly!
I'm glad I unlocked that Skeleton, though. Still, I wouldn't risk just one unit in my city. I switched tiles for max production so my Warrior should be done before those two units get to Jubilee. Glad I went for the Warrior build, after all. However, dang, that Archer is bad news. They can choke me so bad I may never catch up, and they can pillage all of my improvements.
I'll try to bring my scout home just for a little extra security (meat shields, yes), but as for that distant, hero warrior? I just gave him Woodsman I and set him to heal. He'd not make it back in time to make a difference, so I might as well keep scouting with him.
I'm not really sure what I should do to save myself from destruction, though. Is my only hope to spam Warrior until I can take out that Archer? That doesn't sound fun at all.

Spamming warriors may be your best bet in game. Diplo efforts on the email may yield better results (I forget who's clan, but given players in the game couldn't call diplo efforts effectiveness anyways).
P.S. i'm drunk so not going to give concrete advice. Can talk lots of bull about how great Bismarck was (the father, not the son) if you wish though.

I believe Serdoa is playing the clan, or so I was told not long ago in this very thread, but I have no idea what his game e-mail is. Couldn't find it in the tech thread, plus he's gone for a few days. So got some time, I guess.

News:
There are more of the Clan's barbarians out there:
I still find this situation pretty frustrating. If he just attacks I'll probably survive, but if he's smart, he'll choke me. Looks like I'll be building a lot of Warriors for a while, though I'll need to squeeze a Settler out soon. Those darned Archers are going to be a problem, though. Even on flat ground it'd take, what, 3-4 Warriors to kill just one of them? I hope someone has some good ideas.
Sent this to Serdoa:
Quote:greetings brothers and sisters of the clan.
WELCOME TO OUR MOTHERFUCKIN MERRY TOWN.
looks like you be working a wicked plan :o)
JUST DON'T BE THINKIN YOU CAN MOTHERFUCKIN BRING US DOWN Do:
you already made one motherfucker the punchline of your joke.
AND THE MIRTHFUL MESSIAHS GOT ALL THEIR MOTHERFUCKING PLEASED ON, BROTHER.

This is a bluff, and mostly to have some fun. It'd make the most sense for him to get aggressive vs me. No reason to show mercy to an opponent.

So... my traits changed yet again, and into a set of things that seem completely useless to me right now:
At least Aggressive would have helped me in a fight. The starting location is still nice (defogged last tile south of scouts to see cows), and the free tech was nice, but c'mon RNG. This isn't helping.
Also, I have no idea how to personify these traits. Oh, well, I'll just make something up. Did get a diplo reply:
Quote:Greetings to you to Perpentach,
I guess you don't want my troops to stroll around your lands? I would like to move them out but I have to go eastward for this, else I'll activate the Gargoyles and you sure don't want me to do that, do you?
Kind regards,
Jonas of the Clan, leader of the mighty orcs and not so mighty Goblins
Just as a quick clarification, I meant westwards of course ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif)
Could be total BS, though the bit about the Gargoyles sounds like a threat. Though, yeah, 6/8 units with move 2 would totally wreck my day if they came for me. Rock and a hard place, indeed. I guess I'd better whip up a response now while I have the time. Or not. I'll have to send it later.
How do I even make use of the financial trait in EitB?? It seems like it's only good for min/max slider stuff.

Err...min/max is the general policy for these games - I do it in sp too.

Well, yes, I'm aware that min/max is standard. I just mentioned that because Financial in BtS is always providing a benefit, while it seems like Financial in EitB is only providing a benefit some of the time. I mean, it doesn't look like it's going to be of any use to me until I probably get my second city and start chewing through my savings. Heck, I might switch traits again before that even happens, meaning it's kind of a non-trait for me at the moment. Ah, such is life with Perpentach, I suppose.

Financial used to be like that, but it overpowered one economy in the extreme, by allowing the effect to be instantly felt on any irrigated tile.
Financial in bts is also grossly overpowered, but because of the largely unrestricted leader setup this can be avoided, whereas in FFH2 one can't wantonly switch between the leaders because of how the balance is affected.
it is however a controversial change, and one of the principal reasons why playing vanilla FFH is still considered in some quarters.
I also think it is not necessarily warranted, due to the nature of the leaders with access to it, but thats by the by.
