Era of defense

Maybe offer pyramid city for an extended NAP and a bunch of catapults...then kill those backstabbers with their own units smile.

We're up, but I won't be in a rush to play this time. Feel free to draft messages. We could also ask Pirates position and, if Tasunke is intrested in prolonging his NAP.

WIFOM in exchange for 10 catapults and peace. And no unit gifting between them and any other team. No gold or resource gifting either.

Might be ok with me, just for the irony of hitting M3 with their own catapults.
If you know what I mean.

To elaborate, get an indefinite rolling NAP with 20t cool down. Also they must gift us the gold resource permanently while we are at peace. If they want to haggle, maybe throw in Cuba Libre, too. Then we also need open borders as part of the deal.

If they refuse, it might at least get us some insight into their objectives.

I'm thinking the only rational reason for that naval stack is that they want to take out the MoM, too.

It's always possible that it's all Beserkers - both are worth 10k power & I couldn't tell the difference, I just assigned everything since they got Guilds to Knights. This afternoon when I have time I'll count everything up & see if we really are facing Knights as well as Beserkers or not.

This would probably've been better in this thread:

Chariot: 2
Spear: 2
Knight: 2
Archer: 2
Longbow: 2
Beserker: 11
Catapult: 9
Pikeman: 1

Trireme: 3
Galley: 8 (Potentially 16 Beserkers)

So the Beserker+Knight total that's visible is: 13. If there's 16 on the boats, then that's 29. I have 33 in my spreadsheet, to be honest, that's pretty close given the amount of guessing that's gone on - it's also off by the number of those units that I think completed this turn. I have 12 cats in my spreadsheet, we see 9.

Basically, if the boats are full then I think we see the bulk of their army with a handful of units hanging back in reserve (the ones that finished T140?).

So that's rather more Knights than my guess ... either that's the 4 out of my 33 that we couldn't already "see" or the boats aren't full. Or I've underestimated the total :/

You've estimated that they've ~500000 points worth of units. There are 9 Knights (90000), ~12 Bersekers (120000), 9 cats (45000), Obsolete crap ~5 (20000), and 2*Lbow+Pike (18000). We also see 4 triremes and 8 galleys (24000) and presumably they've about ~1 Archer/city as city garrison and bit more in capital (40000). That is about 360000 points worth of power. Those boats are probably quite full.

They can't attack with just 6 cats. Against 9 cats, if we get ~20 units they start to lose a lot of units unless they bombard and then we've more time to bring in units. Nevertheless it might be wisest to retreat most of our units and accumulate a bigger stack.

Yeah it seems the main purpose of the naval stack is to tie up our defenders. Their strategic objective is WIFOM. So I agree we can assume that at least some of those boats are empty.
I have to run.
