I think this was probably best we could hope for. We might have been able to prevent few gifts with our active approach and they don't hate us so in case we lose the war we've a good chance to warm up our relationship again in case we want that.

me: I had to verify these things with my team mates, but e.g. 10 catapults in exchange of Pyramids+HG city + long NAP could be something to consider
WIFOM is the Pyramids city and not too pressed by our culture

rboldharry: I don't think that will be enough, TEAM aren't going to be that difficult to roll over, meaning we get a decent deal but you can use the maces you've been drafting to get a much better one.

What do you think, if I try to buy NAP and maybe some units from Tasunke via offering to gift him cities/land? He is hard to negotiate with i.e. slow and rarely around, but getting him off our backs would give us enough breathing room to handle the Gillette.

I think it's worth a try - and doing it before he gets his power too ramped up might have more chance of success than with Gillette, maybe?

If it fails, what do you think about trying to get Pirates to snip at his heels? I can't really see why they'd help us out, but maybe we can give them something that'd make it worth their while? It doesn't look like they're in on the dogpile - no signs of any power increase.

Gillette's attack has put us in tough position, but we'll fight up to the bloody end so that won't be easy to anyone taking part of this dogpile. Now I'm offering you a good chance to benefit from this without investing to an army. Would you be willing to sell us some Knights in exchange of a city of Elephant Beer and NAP extension e.g. up to T170? You would also get settling rights to land east from EB + 1 tile island south from it.
