Forgot about that...and no I don't think they are. Though, again, if everybody has that DLC, no reason not to include them.
Ichabod, I'm now pretty much convinced to leave France unbanned and huts on, though I want to hear from everybody else before we definitely decide on it.
I proposed Notre Dame because it's 10 happy, and is usually a key wonder in SP games to support expansion. In an MP setting, I feel it might be too strong and would leave everyone else screwed over.
Pyramids because there is absolutely no reason to not go for them, even more so on quick speed, and I feel like it would be won by virtue of turn order and everyone else would get fail gold.
Desert Folklore is too powerful, period.
My other proposed bans:
Mongolia: Keshik
Germany : Landsneckt (Str. 16 unit that costs the same as a warrior)
The Huns: Battering Ram
- Free hut upgrade of warrior into battering ram -> go kill someone right off the bat. Even if this doesn't happen, battering rams are just ungodly strong.
I could be convinced on Germany and Mongolia, since it commits you to an all or nothing military strategy (high risk/high reward). However, Huns are a definite ban. I don't want someone eliminated on t10 because someone got lucky with ancient ruins.

Check on your Steam. Civ5, properties, DLC. It will show everything you have.
Ancient Wonders DLC and Korea DLC are most likely to be missing, because they weren't included in the "complete" edition that was sold before G&K came out.

You can pick and choose which DLC to use in multiplayer games, but I'm not sure if this is possible in hot seat since it's supposed to be played on the same computer.
This might be a problem?

I think you can select DLC even in SP games. As far as I can tell, the disable DLC tab isn't related to MP (at least it isn't in the MP menu in the starting screen, it has its own tab).

Really, banning wonders in our first G&K pbem? We don't even ban wonders in BTS games after many, many games of experience. And IMO some of them are way better deals than G&K pyramids and notre dame. There is always opportunity cost and risk to going after wonders.
I don't understand the logic behind reducing the number of city states. Doesn't that make it more likely that someone will get screwed?

Pretty sure i haz all teh DLCs
i agree everything should be open. That way when i lose i will know to blame it on XYZ not being banned
Still tentative, so if ppl are concerned that 6 players are too many then i'm okay bowing out. Guess that means i'm leaning towards In.

I'd rather err on the side of caution than commit six people to a three month game that was rigged from the start. Just because we do not ban wonders generally in BTS does not mean we should not in Civ5, it's a separate game. That being said, you make a strong case for not banning anything. I am not convinced on Pyramids however.
As you showed us in Civ5 PBEM 1, Pyramids + Citizenship allows you to one-turn roads in quick speed. An very powerful military advantage. That combined with the fact that it is almost as hammer efficient (more so when you count culture and GPPs) to build the Pyramids versus two workers means there is absolutely no reason to not go for them. High risk, and a risk several players are likely to take. So what we end up with is one player with a very strong bonus and two workers, and the other players with failgold. I would rather avoid this situation.
Notre Dame I also believe is too strong in the multiplayer setting. However, I don't believe it is game breaking in the way that the Pyramids are.

The idea is that people will compete more for the lesser number of city-states.
If we have six players I think we go small low sea level or standard high sea level. Though that will depend on how many city-states we want in the game. I still want one for each player 6.
I'm also considering Legendary Start to ensure nobody gets screwed over on their start like fire&ice's tundra did in PBEM1.
I've revised the ban list. I'll edit the proposed settings and ban list into the first post of the thread for further review and discussion.
