Acceptable compromise, however to follow the in-game rules you can send only 1 message to each civ, or one to everyone if you want to for some reason.

Going to vote no, although I really don't mind either way since I already have a good idea who I want to play as.

to be frank i don't mind to much either way either, but at least for me and Jala it could prehaps be a helping hand, not ending up hitting failure on the slot machine, picking say Lanun in the middle of a big continent with few/no saltwater lakes) or Elves in a completely treeless area

Good point. What options are available for boosting the start? I'll probably lean towards no boost (on the assumption we can get some blitz's going) but I may change my mind if there's a particularly interesting option.

Honestly don't think it matters. Elves can bloom over treeless areas, so only Lanun is a gamble. Only 1 civ is such a minority it doesn't make enough of a difference. All my opinion of course, interpret it however you want.

Hi,
I'm new to RB, I've been reading through some completed games in recent weeks, they look like a lot of fun, so I decided to join up when I saw this.
You seem to have filled out the players already though, so maybe I will just ded-lurk somebody? Either would be good with me.
I have played a fair amount of SP FFH, though I have yet to tryout EITB, mostly Tholal's mod so far and some very small experience with general civ MP.
Hopefully I can get involved somewhere!

Clan/Falamar ban - There are 2 votes to ban Clan if mirrored, and 1 vote for a Falamar ban. Neither of these have a majority though. Perhaps an explanation of why they should be banned would allow the rest of us to see your reasoning?
No rushing Strength of Will - Any particular reason why you want to nerf Tower victory and arcane civs Yell0w?
Things remaining:
Which style of limited diplomacy to use.
Vote on lairs near starting positions.
Compact enforced tiebreaker
Other Settings explanations?
Since huts are off I withdraw my clan-ban on a mirrored map =)
I'm fine with leaving mirrored or not to the mapmakers discretion.
The ToM thing is really map dependent if there are few mana nodes it can be almost impossible to get it without diplo. All the games I've played here however had plenty of mana nodes, and with limited diplo mana loans will be possible.
I find it to be a little too easy to build a prerequisit ToD to rush SoW. However it's not something I have to have as a rule.
Limited diplo: Yep I like what you suggested 1 msg per player per turn.
Obviously Goblin Forts, Ruins, Barrows and Epic Lairs shouldn't be near starting positions. Dungeons and Graveyards however can.
Well if you pick lanun before seeing the starting positions you'd force the map maker to give you a start with water tiles. I'm fine either way though seeing the start before picking sounds strange to me.

Looks like we might have room for one more. You're also welcome to dedlurk me.
Settings sounds good to me. I'm in favor of something that boosts the start. I like the free shade that we've done a couple of times (interesting choice to make at T0, and mitigates the impact of someone getting a free GP from a lair or event). An alternative is just to ask the mapmaker to give us very lush starts.
As for seeing the start first: sure, I've got no objections to that. Especially if the mapmaker plans to do minimal editing.
Elves can bloom but not until T100 or so; a map with no trees sounds pretty cruel to a civ that already starts slow.

There's a bunch, everything from starting with all techs (minus aagri for those who don't have any), starting with a shade or two, starting with workers or slaves, advanced start, and so forth.

So who's USTZ who wants me to lurk them?
I mean, I can do others, too, but that's my particular TZ.

(Well, US west coast, in particular, but I figure the 3-hour difference isn't terribly important in this case...)
