I now think Ryan is village puppetmaster :D

Or ... at least the puppet master. (regardless of alignment) tongue

Hi Uber.

There are some politicians who are graceful to defeated rivals. But not the 'Glum! So I want to throw out a possible idea for tomorrow's discussion - that Uber is The Third Man.

Uber's mentioning Azza havign a scum master a lot (above, and -)

(April 8th, 2013, 06:19)uberfish Wrote: 3) I'm inclined to believe Azza's role claim as it stands. Also my guess is this role could be thestick's way of getting the scum count to effectively 2.5/11 (more in line the normal ratios of 2/9 and 3/13) if exactly one of azza/puppetmaster is scum. Actually I have a slight town lean on Azza for stating (correctly) that his role is a liability and being willing to policy lynch himself in this case.

And that's a reasonable argument. But what if we assume that the puppetmaster is town? I'm thinking this because I can really see Ryan fitting the bill as puppet master, and I also have a townish vibe on him. Of course it could be anybody, but if scum don't control Azza then it would make sense for them to cast doubt on the 3 Wolf hypothesis, so that one of them can have another day in deep cover.

If you assume that scum don't have control of Azza, and that Jkaen IS scum (Yes Jkaen, I trust you not!), then I think Uber could fit as wolf. Re-reading Day 1:

#26: Suspicious Jkaen post, where he votes Uberfish for mayor. It's a safe choice that can probably rely on others agreeing, but also scum would obviously like to have their own man in my plush leather seat.

#32: Uberfish switches his lynch vote to Mattimeo, joining Lewwyn. It's a pretty safe move at this stage, there's not much heat on Matt, and its good play for scum to vote for each other early.

#72: Novice reveals the neighbour thread and attacks Mattimeo

#78: Jkaen tries to hose down Mattimeo suspicion - 'don't go after bad defenders'

# 97: heat grows on Matt, and Lewwyn suggests he's open to lynching him

#103: Azza vote Matt, putting him to 3 (plus possible Leww vote)

# 108: Ok, at this point while the whole Novice-Mattimeo scrap has been going on, Uber has been lurking for 24 hours, not giving an opinion. He chimes in again here, after prompting from Lewwyn. Matt is now leading the vote I think, but Uber doesn't have that much reason to jump off him. Especially if the second candidate, Jkaen, is also scum. It would be suspicious to go hard after someone else at this point, so Uber has to be thinking about distancing. He says he finds Matt suspicious, but is 'not convinced by the wording argument'.

And if they don't control Azza, then scum can't rely on changing his vote. So, maybe its bus time?

Once Azza brings up the Town/Village difference, and Mattimeo is really floundering, we have:

(April 8th, 2013, 07:27)uberfish Wrote: I think we should lynch Mattimeo today. Too many red flags with his play independent of the PM wording business.

(April 8th, 2013, 08:40)Jkaen Wrote: Fair enough Azza, I didn't pick up on the importance of that, just having checked now my PM says village not town as well

Mattimeo

If I was a scum uber I would probably play this the same way: give up on Mattimeo, try to win the mayor chair (he self votes to put himself in the lead on #137), and then try to stealth through the next few days.

Unfortunately he is cheated of mayordom by a trolling puppeteer and a coin flip.

Post lynch - as talk of bussing is starting, Uber casts some cold water on it:

(April 9th, 2013, 07:18)uberfish Wrote: Happy we got Mattimeo lynched despite the puppeting of Azza. Lewwyn, why do you think he was bussed? To me it didn't read like there was anyone really trying to take credit for the lynch. In the fairly likely scenario that Azza is village with a scum master, scum were probably hoping for a last minute switch that didn't happen.

I think, whoever is scum, bussing almost certainlny happened here, and I don't like Uber playing down the possibility. Doesnt' want people looking too closely at the Mattimeo votes?

Finally, in his post-lynch wrap up Uber agrees that Jkaen is suspicious - he knows that people are out for his blood already, so he doens't want to risk defending him directly, but sows some seeds of doubt against Zak. Scum Uber, or SCUBA as he will now be known, is taking the long view now.

CRAZY? PARANOID? YOU TELL ME!

I think we should keep an eye on Uber, and that we shouldn't offer him the Mayor's chair in the unlikely event that my dear constituents ever tire of me.

Happy hunting wolves.

Oh, and I forgot to directly say above - I felt that Uberfish's repeated mention of his '2 And a Half Scum' hypothesis is strange, because The STick clearly said that Mafia made up about 1/3 of the group. 2.5 (includng Azza as half) out of 11 is not that close to a third. It's not even a quarter. Hell, 3 and a half wolves is much closer to a third.

I also think puppeter could be either alignment, but I doubt Ryan is it.

Agree that we're likely to have more then two wolves, especially if one is only a neighbour.

Not sure I like gazglums joking, feels like it could be put on to hide some of the stuff he's pushing beneath the joking (for example, the uber-jkaen leaps would be dismissed as jumping to conclusions if he were talking normally, but as is, if people don't agree it can be ignored as joking, and thus ideas started by fazglum can be maintained as if they were our own ideas dismissing his responsibility in it. Ok that sounds really convoluted, but hopefully you get what I'm saying - think ww2 zak.).

zakalwe asked me why I didn't vote for mayor. Look, I know I'm innocent, so why should I vote for someone who might not be innocent? Besides, mayor votes didn't matter, Matt was going down no matter what strings the scum pulled.

Jkaen is scummy as hell for not voting for the dead rat. I can see him sweating. I'll have him tied up, hung, and stuffed by lunchtime. Mafia's definitely not going to take ol' Leww out tonight, anyhow. They're going to take out Gazglum, hell he's already written his last will and testament.

We got most of the snow cleared out after the party. Plus, I paid a visit to an old friend of mine and put him under my spell. Can't wait to see him squawk. Tomorrow's going to be a nice day.

Lewwyn, Village Compulsive Post Restrictor, was killed Night 1.
All night results should be out. If you haven't received your night results, please tell me.
Deadline is April 11th, 2000 PST (April 12th, 0300 GMT).
I'll be out tomorrow, but I should be back in time for the lynch in two days.

Damn that sucks.

Yes Qqq, there has been joking, and laughter, and sometimes tears. But the points I've made have been serious. Anyway, the death of Lewwyn has left me sombre now.

Uber attack may seem a reach to you, but I was paranoid that I might be eaten in the night, and I was worried that nobody else was openly considering him. Wanted to make sure my thoughts were out there. If Jkaen convinces me of his innocence, I will reset my reads on everybody else, including Uber.

Let the games begin.

Jkaen.
