Cool. I won 7 of my 10 games and also finished 2nd in my group. I won my group of the tournament last month back when I was < 1200 - just waiting for the other groups to finish so I can move onto the next round (and get my butt kicked )

@uberfish
...d3 is a very nice move, I doubt I would have found it. But Makholms reaction is not very good, he had to try dxc3. Removing the knight from the file with queen and king still lined up was asking for trouble. Then again, grabbing the pawn in the first place was probably already too risky.

Wow, my play against pindicator is awful, there goes my no losing streak...as Nigel Short always says: "He really botched it up."

I looked at some critical lines with the computer (basically skipped the opening phase):

Some improvements are not easy to spot (Qa4 instead of Qc2) and at first sight not taking the rook looks rather unnatural as well.

Thanks Gustaran for putting that together. I don't think i even noticed Qa4, but instead had calculated that moving the knight to attack the queen still let me win material.
As for the last blunder, i think this is a case where i need to write down my notes. I had figured out that h3 was the move to defend against Qh5, but i hadn't written down any of my calculations and forgot the right way to recapture when the move came up the next day. Then i made the "automatic" recapture which proved wrong.
Ah well, a fun game anyway! I think we (RB) are getting closer to notching our first win against you

I guess part of my advantage is the availability of software. If you have a full version of Chessbase installed you can just make all the moves on the board and Chessbase will save all the variations (and the current state of the game which Chessbase light doesn't do).
You could try "Scid" which is similar, but doesn't have a great GUI. On the other hand, it's free.

Upset with my extremely high blunder rate but some interesting games at least.

Yeah, you giving away a full rook against regoarrarr made me wonder what's going on... and I actually counted on you to get at least one draw against pindicator. Now I had to play some crazy gambit because I need to get a full point if I want to win the tournament for sure (pindicator vs waterbat is still being played though, go waterbat! )
